25 BB and 6 WP in 52 IP is not good. 5.88 ERA even less so.

 

He has talent and will make the big leagues one day, but he has absolutely been rocked the last 4 starts (22 ER in 20 IP). Either he makes a big adjustment soon or he should go back to AAA to get some confidence back.

 

 

As for Wandy Rodriguez....do you really think his ERA is going to stay down at 4.19 with the stuff he has? Its just a matter of time and pressure til his numbers revert to form. I am sure Sean Estes had a few good months somewhere once upon a time too.

His numbers actually indicate that his performance isn't very fluky right now. his K:BB is nearly 4:1. He's striking tons of guys out. He doesn't have a fluky-low babip. nothing about the way he's performed so far screams fluke. His K-rate will probably drop a little bit, but at worst he'll be an average 3rd starter given how he's performed so far.
