I'm sorry if this was posted elsewhere but do we have confirmation of what Young said that set off Lee like that?

I have heard two different accounts.

That's a better angle. You can clearly read Young say some real inflammatory stuff.

why must you love Rick Astley so much?

He looks like Conan O'Brien.

I thought it was Jake Peavy.

I don't see Ortiz or Ramirez or A-Rod or Pujols or Bonds or anybody else get plunked because of admiring home runs. I've seen highlights of the four of them (and any manner of others) absolutely preening after home run swings, no better than Soriano. I don't know why it only seems to piss opponents off when our players do it.

I have heard two different accounts.

Lee: "Who have you been texting?"

Young: "IDK, my BFF Jill?"

Inspired by Roast's sig.

because all of baseball, including the Cubs, know the umpires and league will disproportionately penalize and discipline Cubs players and coaches setting up a situation where the opposition knows they will not be justly punished for their actions and the Cubs can't respond less they are willing to accept unjust discipline?

in future news, the Padres will announce Sunday morning that Chris Young will drop his appeal and begin serving his suspension immediately. Germano and Young will flip flop their slot in the rotation the last weekend of June and not miss a beat.

meanwhile, in other future news, the league will announce in the middle of this week that Derrick Lee's appeal is denied or reduced minimally. he will miss the key series against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Crap. If the Cubs do anything less than winning that series, the season is likely all but done.

it's speculation, but Kevin Towers is Kevin Towers and Bob Watson is Bob Watson.

That wouldn't surprise me at all with Young. All the Padres would need is an offday so the guy they move up in the rotation would still get his usual 5 days off. I figured something like that would happen all along.
