Is Lastings Milledge a possibility?

Should set us up in the OF for a whle

i was thinking that, but i think the mets would have to include more than that.

Milledge and Pelfrey, get as many LHP in the rotation as you can.

I'd do Zambrano for Saltalamacchia in a heartbeat. I'd prefer to look toward Anaheim or Arizona.

If Anaheim would do a Brandon Wood for Zambrano, that might be our best bet.

After watching today's game, Saltalamacchia has a lot of work to do if the Braves think his future is 1B. He has had 2 plays at 1B and almost made 2 errors. Obviously they ought to trade him to the Cubs so he can go back to catching.

If Zambrano can get his act together, I think we might be able to work a deal with the Angels for Brandon Wood. Heck, they were considering trading Wood for Atkins who has had 1 decent season.

Maybe Z + EPatt for Wood?

Rosenthal says the Cubs won't trade Carlos Zambrano unless they fall out of contention or the big righty requests a trade. Rosenthal finds neither scenario likely. He says Zambrano still has a good relationship with Jim Hendry, and the Cubs still intend to sign him. The contract remains on hold. Interesting, but not surprising to see that the Cubs are still veering towards this mistake after what we've seen this year.

A-Rod's a pipe dream.

He'll go to Boston or Anaheim if he opts up.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that A-Rod would not go to Boston. The fans there already hate him.

As did the Yankee fans regarding Damon. Whats your point?

It's different going from the Yanks to the Sox than from the Sox to the Yanks.. I think Yankee fans are much more willing to accept a former Sox player than the other way around.

Z and EPatt? Not a chance.

Z for Adenhart and Wood or maybe Saunders and Wood or maybe Mathis and Wood, but there is no way I'd expect to have to include a prospect when trading a very young, durable major league starter for a prospect.
