UC Irvine topped Texas to advance to the Super Regionals also.

Raisin - since both Fullerton and UCLA were No. 2 seeds, do you know who is going to host the Super Regional games?

I expect it will be Fullerton.

It is Fullerton:

Who would have figured on Cal State Fullerton playing host to a regional? Perhaps UCLA didn’t finish strong enough; perhaps Fullerton’s facilities and bid were the key factor. Or maybe Titans athletic director Brian Quinn lobbied his fellow members of the Division I baseball committee persuasively. It’s no slam dunk that one team deserves it more than the other; those factors all probably played a part.

Would have loved it if it was at Jackie Robinson instead.

Supers have started today.

In the afternoon games, Clemson lost to Mississippi State 8-6, while Louisville is up on OK State 5-0.

Tonight, Texas A&M takes on Rice, and South Carolina plays North Carolina.

SC on ESPN. Not all that confident about USC winning the series, but I'm excited.

Go [expletive]! :D

North beat South in the battle of the Carolinas, 9-6. South took a 6-0 lead, but North came back with 3 in the 6th and 6 in the 7th. All 9 of North's runs came with 2 out.

It looks like South Carolina may tie the series. They were ahead by 3 runs in the 7th when the game was suspended due to lightning. It will be completed tomorrow afternoon, with game 3 tomorrow night if necessary.

Hopefully Gavin Brooks continues his hot streak in a must-win game. Man, Brummett was horrible yesterday. :(

Phil Nevin is the analyst for the Wichita-UC Irvine game on ESPN. That alone is making this worth watching.

I was just about to post the same thing. It makes sense considering he was a standout player at CSF.

On a side note, I like how Irvine's away uniforms say "Eaters" across the front.

Irvine just got screwed royally on a call that was overturned on the second batter of the inning. WS ended up with a 2-run bases loaded 2-out single to tie the game.

Michigan's starting pitcher Putnam went 8 and 2/3 innings without giving up a hit, but ended up giving up 1 hit that led to a run in the 9th, and of course Michigan loses 1-0. :x

Overall I must say I have a hard time watching college baseball. I think it's the insane amount of small ball.

I hate how much teams use small ball when just about every hitter in most of these lineups could easily HR.

You wouldn't like to watch Creighton then, they are known even by college coaches as a heavy small ball team at all points of a game.
