When describing Wickman:

Hughes: Wickman is a huge man. 6 foot and 280-290 pounds. He has huge upper legs.

Santo: Yeah, he has a huge upper belly.

Guys...season is done, finit, over.

Zambrano and Barrett's fight will be the highlight or lowlight...but either way, it just marked the end.

The season is ending earlier and earlier every year since 04.

The 2006 season was over at least three weeks earlier than this season is.

You could say that, but they showed a graphic before the game started today that the Cubs were 30-32 at one point last year and 7 games out. This year we're 22-30 and 7 games out.

I really don't think that graphic is correct. There's no way we were 30-32 at this point last year. No way.

Yeah, I thought the same thing as well.

The Cubs didn't get their 30th win last year until July 2 and were 30-51 at that point. The Cubs season was over last year after their West Coast swing in early May in which they went 1-8. Then they came back to Chicago and were swept by San Diego. That series ended May 14.

I stand corrected. Still no excuse for a team with a payroll of over $100 million to be 8 under on June 1st.

Seems to me like Lou was definatly calling out Hendry during his PC. Says he knows what he would do, but we wont go into that, and talking about getting some players in here who can catch and hit the ball.

Couldn't agree more.

I think it was a threat to bring up players and not play some people already on the roster...

He specifically spoke about getting "people who can catch the damn ball."

Barrett and Murton top that list.

Yeah, but I think that he was also calling out Hendry. When he said, "I know what I would do," that was definitely directed at Hendry's inability to field a competitive team.

I agree, Im glad to finally see him getting pissed. Lou definalty isnt blameless, but these players need to start playing like they are ML'ers. I dont know how Lou has kept his temper this entire time.

How can you not be pissed? They were dropping easy pop-ups Bush Leaguers wouldn't have problems grabbing. Today was the sorriest excuse for a team and a game I've ever seen. Why did I become a Cubs fun?

I just might kill myself tonight.
