I'm travelling to san Fran for a conference and finally log in and see the score tonight and I start laughing out loud hysterically. Part of me wants them to lose every game the rest of the year so real changes are made.

But that's besides the point. Are we ha-ha funny yet?

We're beyond ha-ha funny.

Only this team could call a player meeting to discuss how to turn things around, then play one of their worst games of the season.

With the wind blowing out.

Who was easily the worst of the three pitchers they traded for Pierre.

Good, I'm glad I'm not going crazy.

Why did I have to become a cubs fan 25 years ago?

Whoever can answer this question gets a cookie, and maybe more (live music cd's if I like your answer, and you like good live music, i.e not ashlee simpson).

The same reasdon I did 10 years ago (when I started understanding baseball).

So uh... where's the cookie?

I live in North Eastern Ohio.

I became a Cubs fan in 96/97.

I have absolutely no idea why I'm not an Indians fan. But I want to shoot the part of my brain that made this decision for me.

Yeah, we're fun bad. When you don't even get mad when your team is losing, you definitely know that there is no hope and that they suck. I laughed pretty hard when Uggla hit that wind-aided HR. The near-botched rundown was also pretty hilarious.

I became a Cubs fan in the early seventies when everyone expected them to stink...and loved them for stinking. Now they just stink and I hate them for stinking.

this team has actually gotten beyond the funny stage... it's jumped to depressive already.

that's the problem with actually believing the cubs can win, you get disappointed when they don't

i watched the hockey game, so i had the game on DVR. when it was 4-0, i started fast-forwarding. i was laughing hysterically as the score rose.

And a fine hockey game it was. :D

I checked the score in the Cubs game, said to heck with this and had my DVR delete the recording.

After a couple of drinks, then I started laughing.

I think its hilarious because we are still second in the conference and have actually gained ground on the Brewers lately.

I think it's funny you called the NL Central a "conference." ;)

and that you called third "second"

Real changes? Like firing the manager and most of the coaching staff, then spending $300 million on FAs?

Or are you referring to firing the GM and hiring a new GM that actually has a 3 year plan to get and stay competitieve? Hendry had a plan as well until that plan started to fail and his job was on the line.

well if you were in Cleveland area in the late 70's the Tribe was pretty bad/like tyhe Cubs, but more dicouraging to go to a 90,000 seat stadium like Cleveland Stadium and sit with 3000 people

Hendry has a plan, but usually a bad one that changes every year so nothing ever gets accomplished.

Hendry & Snyder(Redskins) should get together. Hendry's Snyder's kind of guy. To hell with player development, just take all the cash and blow it on the latest FA's, put together your ballclub like a jigsaw puzzle and then act shocked when it doesn't work.
