Does anyone have any questions that they'd like asked?

Is Angel Hernandez as incompetent socially as he is as an umpire?

Couple of Questions:

Are umpires doing a lot more work in staying in shape these days. Seems like all the young umps and a lot of the old ones look to be in pretty decent shape as opposed to an Eric Greg, etc.

Is there anything that occurs during a game that you like less than getting hit by a foul ball when calling behind the plate? How do you deal with that?

How lively is the conversation typically at the plate during a minor league game? Do the umpires ever get involved in the conversation between the batters and catchers, or do you just sit there bemused?

Actually, there are large parts of the Ump Acadamies that focus on being in good physical shape and what not (I've looked into them).

Anyways:

Advice for people who want to try to become a major league umpire?

Why does Bruce Froemming like to eat live puppies?

But really...

How often do you look at tapes and realize the mistakes you may have made?

I have a serious question. Could you ask him if umpires are now being taught to fight fire with fire when it comes to arguments with players and mananergs/coaches. I just see more and more how the umpire starts the argument with a "preemptive strike". Is this what they are being taught to do or is this them showing immaturity?

Does the question makes sense?

I second that question. It seems now a days umps think they are better then the game.

Does he need glasses?

Is his brain really made of poo?

You know, the obvious "ump" questions :)

why did they have it in for Moises Alou in 2004?

why did Greg Maddux's strikezone shrink for three years, then get bigger again?

more serious - why do so many umpires prefer to call strikes by where the pitch was in relation to where the catcher set up as opposed to where it crosses the plate.

or - what happened to the high strike that was called in 01-03 ish?

why Paul LoDuca is allowed to stand at home plate and yell at the first base umpire because he didn't like a check swing call, not only after the call, but again a few pitches later after he eventually K's?

can't stomach to watch the Cubs right now so I'm watching the Mets-Giants. ump just stands there like it's all nothing. didn't Cliff Floyd get run for mumbling under his breath on his way back to the dugout a couple weeks ago and the ump followed him yelling? LoDuca stands there yelling, nothing happens. amazing how a year, and a change of uniform, can change things.

When did it become okay to actually call a strike on Barry Bonds? (He's actually been K'd looking quite abit this year.) And was Barry paid the last few years for calling his own balls and strikes?

Or for that matter, when did it become okay to stand with your toes in the middle of the plate instead of in the batters box?

There's been a lot of talk the last few years about calling the strike zone by the letter of the rule book. In the 70s and 80s each umpire had his own strike zone and called it that way. For the sake of consistency within a single game, should the umpires be given more latitude to call their own strike zone if they call it consistently or do they need some sort of questec system at every park?
