Michael Barrett can't be an ex-Cub fast enough.

He is MLB's dumbest ballplayer, a horrible defensive catcher, and now can no longer hit.

As bad as Barrett has been, I don't see any better options in our system or free agency.

Why not Fox?

because the chance Fox can catch at the ML level are slim to none

Isn't Fox a butcher behind the plate?

I'd rather see a tandem of Blanco and Soto.

Barrett is less than worthless. He is actively hurting the team.

In the past you could argue that Barrett's offensive punch made up for his lack of defensive awareness. You can't make that argument any longer.

How is a Soto-Blanco pairing that much worse than Barrett?

Ron just said Kerry Wood played catch today.

WE'RE SAVED!!!!1111

I'm sure Rothschild will slow down his rapid progress by getting him back on the towel regime.

With guys like Soto and Fox, it seems like we'd be putting automatic outs into the lineup. Granted, I think Soto is a good defensive catcher but the last thing this lineup needs is another easy out.

I would like to see about 3-4 guys gone from this team in like a matter of a week. I thought they were working towards being a team of accountability.

Seriously, Lee, Ramirez and Theriot are the only 3 players who have shown they deserve to play every day. I really would like to see Pie play every day. They need some energy very very badly.

You mean like Barrett right now?

I can't be the only person here who actually doesn't mind Neal Cotts. He's certainly far more useful than Scott Eyre. I mean seriously, what does it take to get a DFA in this organization?

Ha ha. This is great. At some point it has to be it right? He rides the pine for a week, comes in and blows a game they should have won, which would have been important to the team (1-0 wins always are) then gets scored on in 2 consecutive inning the next day again.

LOL!

The Chicago Cubs?

Please be serious.

I'd rather have Cotts over Eyre and it's not even close.

A life-threatening blood clot.

The Cubs are MLB's dumbest team.

That needs to change.

The best place to start is to get MLB's dumbest player off the roster as soon as possible.

Do we really want a firesale? Really? I think this is a pretty average team. We're still in the race. We're probably going to be in the race the entire year. The team that wins the division is going to be the one that gets hot in the end. As unimpressive as we are, that could be us.

Fox has always hit and is at .349 this year again. He may be a butcher, but wasn't Piazza?

DeRosa has proven he should play every day. Theriot simply has not whatsoever. His average is down to .273, his OBP is proabbly under .340 now, and he has no power.

While on the west coast trip, the Cubs gained ground on the Brewers and passed the Astros. Pretty pathetic, but definitely still a division that can be won.
