So Hill dominates for 6 innings, throws 66 pitches, and we're taking him out to get daryle ward and at-bat with 2 outs?

Stupid.

Wuertz warming up to pitch the 7th again, woohoo

Who cares when he pitches? All that matters is what situation he comes in, and Lou is showing that he is willing to bring Wuertz in for close games (as he should be).

yeah, I'm okay with it this time as he's more likely to face better hitters than the guy who pitches the 8th. If it's Howry though someone needs to brain Lou with a bat.

Remember also that in the 6th inning they got several good swings off of Hill-he certainly wasn't assured of continuing to pitch a shutout either.
this is true, even Pierre hit one to the track

Is Gooz the long man or the setup man? Hard to justiy him being the long man instead of a starter. What about Marmol?

From the way they've been used recently, Guzman is one of the setup men (with Wuertz and Howry). Marmol is the long man.

He wanted Pierre to elevate the ball, and Martin skied it so it carried a bit. Not much reason to think Hill was on the verge of breaking down, especially considering his pitch count.

LOL-I've disagreed with some things (like Dempster becoming starter-I was vocally very against that move) but on moves that I think can go either way, I like to present the other side of the argument. Since most of the time people say the Cubs are so wrong in making all these moves, my other side seems like I support them more than I do.

Personally, I would have kept Hill in, but it's a very close decision and I'm not upset that he was taken out either.

Heh, thought that Gonzo line drive would get down for sure. Nice job by Wuertz. Now let's get some runs!
