NiShea Dukes, who has two children with Elijah, has asked for $28,000 a month in alimony and child support, according to court records. Dukes' pay averages about $29,230 a month.

Mrs. Dukes allegations may/may not be true, but she's certainly a gold digger.

She's not a golddigger. The money is for the kids.

Good story, and one you dont see that often in the media frenzy. I have always maintained through the interviews i have seen on ESPN, MTV and the day in the life series done on him that Sheff isnt a bad guy at all.

He is grossly misunderstood and that a lot of the stuff that he has been tagged for was things from early in his life and seeing things associated with Gooden and Strawberry. He is a lot smarter and has a whole lot more class than people give him credit for. Nowhere near the case of Bonds which he is most closely associated with.

His mother says he went to the school April 30 after discovering NiShea Dukes cleaned out his bank account.

I'd be pissed if someone did that to me in the middle of a messy divorce. It's a quote from his mom, so who knows if it's 100% accurate, but it fits with the next piece of evidence.

I'll wait until I see some hint of evidence that her allegations of death threats are true. There is nothing to substantiate her claims as far as I can tell.

I wonder what kind of bonus he got when he signed? When you look at Stephen Drew, his salary is already listed at around $1.5 mil because of the initial contract he signed. Dukes lists league minimum, so it wasn't a major league contract like some guys get. There might have been a nice bonus, but this guy strikes me as the type who would have wasted it all already. Up until this season, he was in the minors and not making very much, and he had 5 kids with 4 different women. He's got 3 months of big league paychecks under his belt now, so I can't imagine that he had THAT much money in the bank, not enough to get pissed enough to threaten her over. I could easily be wrong though. Either way, if you know things are rough, and you leave all of your money in a joint account, you should know it's fair game for either side. He can use that against her when they split property at the divorce, so in the long run, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. If his short term finances were hit that badly, take out a freaking loan.

As far as evidence of the threats, wasn't she granted a protection order based on the voice mail and the picture he sent her? I didn't think there was any doubt that the evidence existed, but I didn't particularly pay that much attention to that aspect of the story.

She filed for the protection order and played the voicemail threat (allegedly from Dukes) for the newspaper. I haven't heard if she got it or not. I wonder why her 2 previous attempts to get a protection order failed - well one was b/c "her kid was in the hospital." All she had to prove was there was an incidence of domestic violence and further fear of it continuing. At least that's my understanding. Considering this guy's documented history of issues, that just made me a little suspicious.

As far as his finances are concerned, some people just don't know how to manage money, especially not together in a joint account. Not too many married couples don't fight about money somewhere along the line. I too doubt he has any of his signing bonus left after paying taxes, his agent, and the mothers of his kids.

My first thing if I was involved in a divorce would be to either take her name off the account completely, or move my money to a place where she couldn't get to it. With that being said though, I would still be pissed if this happened. I don't think I'd threat her kids, and probably not her either but with tensions being strained with the current circumstances I could see it. At this point, I cut her off 100% until everything is settled in court and the papers are final.

Asking for almost all of his pay is ludicrous, though. I'd be nice and give her around 15%. If she isn't happy with $4500 a month for 2 kids, I'd tell her to go blow it out her ear because she isn't getting any more.

If she cleaned out his account a judge could take that into consideration, not to mention put a hold on all activity with her until the thing is settled. I am guessing if it is true it could be just an advance in alimony.

Neither one is helping their case. If she was teaching my kids and I knew about this I would pull them from that school asap.

The Saga Continues:

Dukes was given last night off and may not play again until later in the weekend b/c of personal reasons.

This is unbelievable but here we go. His step-grandmother is on the hook for watching this foster kid who is 17. Apparently he got the 17yr old pregnant (she is now 18) and she is due to deliver in November. So there is this whole thing with the media, the police, social services, him, etc, etc. He wont be charged b/c it was consensual and the age of consent is 16 in Fla.

The running tally is now 6 kids with 5 different women. This is a very expensive hobby he has.

For god's sake man, keep it in your pants already.

Obviously Mr. Dukes was never given the "wrap it before you tap it" advice that my father gave me as a young adult...

How long before he's on "To Catch A Predator"?

this is too bad. this guy is going to be out of baseball because of this stuff.

Not if his batting average was as good as his women slept with knocked up average.

How would one even compute that, I am sure there are some ladies he is sleeping with who aren't getting pregnant.

Or if not, he wouldn't be in this situation if he'd just take the same advice to heart that I've been hoping our President would for years

Does anyone have the current BABIP stat on Dukes? We really need to move on this guy fast, just keep the young girls away from him. Both his power #'s are good, and his OBP which leads me to believe a low BABIP. This should increase and he could very well put up an 850+ OPS.

I think this guy would be a nightmare here. The bars are always open.

Dukes and 5,000 condoms for Jacque and 5,000 personally written letters of thanks from Cubs fans?
