Dear Wade Miller,

Please retire already. Your 85mph fastball isn't getting it done. There are plenty of high school kids out there that have better stuff than you do nowadays. You don't have it anymore. Give up.

Thanks,

I'm really hoping the wife lets me make one last trip over there tonight. :fingerscrossed:

Well at least you shouldn't have to worry about the sunburn issue.

True. If my brother goes with his kids, I'm going as I'll just bum a ride with him. What she's really griping about is the amount of money I'm spending in gas to get there. Each trip is costing me around $30 in gas alone.

Wade needs to go. He is taking useful starts away from kids that might have some promise.

To be fair, with Marmol, Marshall and Guzman in the bigs, there aren't any kids in Iowa who could start. I mean, John Webb was moved to their rotation after the Marmol promotion. The only "kid" I can think of is Randy Wells and he struggled earlier in the season in the rotation (I guess they could also call up Mark Holliman from AA Tennessee).

Is it wrong to hope that Miller gets lit up tonight?
Not at all. I think it's wrong to wish physical harm on someone, but hoping he gets torched so he doesn't get called up is definitely good.

Awful outing for Samardzija tonight: 1.2 IP, 9 hits, 7 runs, 0 K's/1 BB, 1 HR allowed. His ERA is now up to 5.18 on the season. Daytona down 8-3 in the 5th.

Yikes! That really surprises me because he was great in spring.

Eh, he just wants to be like Zambrano.
