I sold my tickets...I officially won't be going to a Cubs game this year.

That's sad.

Well, work is in the way today and I'll be in the Bay area when the Cubs come to play the Dodgers here.

Quit your job! Get your priorities straight. 8-)

I'll probably end up going to a game when I visit Chicago in early September...otherwise this will be the first time since 1997 I won't see a Cubs game.

I've been to at least one game at Wrigley every year since my dad took me to my first game in 1978.

The Piniella pool entries for this series:

5/22 @ San Diego- karenmac

5/23 @ San Diego- Garwilly

5/24 @ San Diego- cbbryan

9th inning of yesterday had the closest encounter to an ejection Lou has had.

The Cubs played yesterday? Who won? ESPN still hasn't updated the standings from yesterday's game. Who pitched? Why no box score? What was the batting order? How long did the starter last? How'd the bullpen do?

I have so many more questions, but let's start with those. :D

That was last year for me.

They still have yet to go to San Francisco. Think you might make it there?

Nah, I'm not driving 300+ miles to see the Cubs. Dodger Stadium is 15 minutes away adn Petco is 2 hours away, that's not a problem.

300 miles is nothing !! I drive that far every morning before I'm completely awake !!

I wonder if there will be a lot of complaining about our offense, even though we're facing one of the best pitchers in baseball.

Actually, check that, I'm not wondering. I know there will be.

In a ballpark not conducive to run-scoring with anti-HR weather.

We're not all you, Fred. I'd probably fall asleep if I had to drive on the 5 through the San Joaquin Valley...no matter the time of the day!!

The jackholes running the internet connections for my apartment complex shut me down for "excessive download" recently, but that wont stop me from stealing bandwidth from the neighbors to take in a game with you folks.

May gray is alive and well in San Diego.

Do not expect many runs to score during this whole series. The marine layer is so thick, the sun still hasn't come out today. The sun usually burns it off, but not when it's this thick.

I'm way inland and it's thick as heck here too...I haven't seen the sun in 3 days. There won't be many runs in the Dodgers series too.

This game isn't going to be worth stealing bandwidth for.

We had sun yesterday for about an hour. By the time the sun burned off most of the marine layer, it was starting to set and it just built right back up again.

This will be a good game to play some small ball.

We are only going to tonight's game. We have tickets for Cirque Du Soleil on Thursday night at the I Pay One Center.

Chances are there will be little scoring in that scenario, as well.

Ooohhh, burn.
