Izturis the first guy off the bench, brings back memories of Macias

I'd rather have him bat with two outs and the bases empty than a good hitter. Might as well save the good hitters til situations where they can do more damage.

DeRosa has sucked recently.

That's not uncommon amongst bad baseball players.

???

DeRosa isn't a "bad baseball player."

Not compared to every living human on the planet.

Compared to other MLB players, he is.

Izturis is an example of a "bad baseball player", a.k.a Neifi Perez.

Well there were two outs. It'd be a shame to waste Floyd or Pagan there.

But man, the Cubs have just given up.

Yup. Same thing with pinch hitting Blanco yesterday.

That's the only positive side I do see, as long as I don't see him replacing somebody on the field.

DANG IT! Izturd playing SS. Ugh.

Where in the hell was Cliff Floyd at there?

Cliff is assistant manager for today and he didn't feel like getting up there, so he sent Izturis.

In an unrelated note, since I am being forced to watch the Subways series, it is becoming obvious that the signing of Clemens is like putting a band-aid on an evisceration victim. That club will not make the playoffs.

That's what I thought last year as well. But, they always seem to do it. At some point Abreu will start to hit.

No, the pitching is so bad it won't matter. Another of their patchwork starters got injured today, too.

If I were the Brewers I would trade them one of my pitchers for Tabata and Abreu. Then call up Gallardo.

They might be 15 out by time the Rocket makes his first start. They need something more, and bad.

Well if that Brewer pitcher was Sheets that would be a great start.

Yeah I was thinking that too. I guess Lou is saving him. Better use him soon since we only have 6 outs left.

He's certainly not what I would call starter quality.

Last 28 days for DeRosa:

.224/.375/.310/.685

Yeah, no he's not.

But since we're just making things up... I'm an awesome basketball player.

DAMMIT! Izturd playing SS. Ugh.

Theriot to second, so putting a glove man with a weak bat out there for a decent guy who's bat might as well be on the bench. It does however put the pitcher up sooner...

I get that when you are down a couple of runs. Which we are now.

We're not losing. And as soon as I start typing this, Konerko homers.
