He walks way too many batters. And for a lefty, he sure sucks against left-handed hitters.

But I'm more upset with many other pitchers in the pen, rather than Cotts.

Cotts should be the least of our worries. Ohman, Eyre, Howry, and maybe even Wuertz are ones you should bite your nails over --- and thats just the Bullpen.

I didn't like Cotts when we got him, but he's grown on me. I'm not thrilled with the walks, but it hasn't hurt him so far.

Besides last night he's been fine.

Collectively, if these guys don't stop walking people with games close and on the line, then it will likely spell doom for the Cubs. Lou knows this, and that's why I think you'll soon see two or three new guys down there...and more later until we find guys who throw strikes.

Besides the final score and Rich Hills pitching line, I have no idea what happened last night...way too late.

I fell asleep listening to Ron Darling tell Keith Hernandez the benefits of pitching limp wristed. I remember some futile swings and what looked to be the proverbial "pitcher fighting himself" outing from Hill. But that's about it.

Oh, and Ramirez making some nice plays.

Why? He's pitched just as well (or as poorly, depending on how you want to look at it) as

Cotts still has a White Sox stink about him that makes him unpalatable.
So do Howry and Eyre.

Oh, wait; they're unpalatable anyway.

what makes it even worse is that aardsma is the sox's best reliever so far this year. it would have been nice to have aardsma to take the closers role right now.

Yeah Aardsma has been lights out this year.

I enjoyed us beating him up this weekend.

I quite enjoyed it also.

Awful Aardsma and crappy Cotts. Both gave up grand slams to ther old teams. Now, that indeed was a fair trade!
