    Holy Garland for Karchner Batman! This is a horrible, horrible comparison. Soria is 26 years old. His lifetime ERA is 2.09, while his lifetime WHIP is 0.95. He strikes out more than a guy an inning, and has a 4:1 strikeout to walk ratio. If not for playing for the Royals, he'd reguarly be in the discussion for the best reliever in all of baseball. As you asserted, the original poster may have not kept a very good eye on Cashner this year, but you're selling Soria severely short here.

    We have six outfieders in Soriano, Pie, Jones, Floyd, Pagan and Murton. While there is some merit in moving one of the lefties (Jones or Floyd) neither have a drip of trade value. Murton must still have some value to a building team, despite his tomfoolery on the basepaths, and mediocre fielding. Goodness know we could use a lefty who can get people out in the bullpen in return. Our record is horrible against left-handed starters, and can't get much worse. An outfield of Soriano, Pagan, Derosa could be used if Floyd and Jones continue to be deplorable against southpaws.

    Neat, I was originally a voice major at IC before moving to History. I coach baseball at Newfield, and have had our butts handed to us by Lansing a few times! Didn't mean to cause any stir on here, and certainly wasn't going to ask anyone for a Credit Card number. Just sitting at school with a lot of ticket windows open, and watching some folks here in panic. I'm a regular on the Worldcrossing board (BullingersEars), but read the board here on occasion, and figured I might do a favor. I certainly understand the hesitancy surrounding a new guy though! Best of luck to all of you in your ticket hunting, and go Cubs!

    Cuse- I graduated from IC, and teach 8th graders in Newfield. Have a Cubs flag flying in class, but I've created more of a Cubs backlash than anything i think!

    No I don't expect that at all (credit card)! I wouldn't give that info away in a trillion years. I'd pick them up and we could figure something out through paypal or whatnot. I'm from your neck of the woods Cuse, teach in the Ithaca area. Actually I'm at my school in the computer lab, which made things a bit easier today!
