Based on current records, it looks like mismatches in the East and close matches in the West. Hopefully Buddiga can get back on track and drop Harrys Budcrew into a tie for first.

Looking at the west division, the division leader will be at 5-2 after week 7 and at least 2 teams will be at 4-3. If I can beat Fuzzy we'll have a division leader at 5-2 and 4 teams at 4-3.

Definitely a change at the top in the West. The top 2 from last year are the bottom 2 this year. In the East, 1-2 and 3-5 have switched places from last year. With NC Cubs thrown in up top also.

I like Aramis more than Atkins for this season, though. Significantly more demonstrated power. I think Atkins is still a bit too dependent upon a high batting average providing value.

Speaking of whine, why does a save or a hold get a reliever extra points, but not a win or a loss?

 

Come in with a slight lead and preserve the victory, extra points.

Come into a tie game and hold the opponent while the offense gets the win, no extra points.

 

That seems odd. I have 3 actual closers, so I'm not really complaining. It just seems odd to me that there is no penalty for blown saves, no points for a hold, no points for a win, but there are points for a save.

 

Also, with 16 teams in the league and 3 reliever spots and a total of 32 MLB teams and 32 closers, there aren't enough closers to go around. I can get 9 points daily that a team with no closer has an option to match.
