Pagan would be hard-pressed to perform worse than Jones did last night. At least Pagan is someone I wouldn't mind the Cubs using like they used Pie. Late inning defensive replacement (although he's not much better defensively than Jones), pinch runner, 25th man. And Pie can start every day and get 3-4 plate appearances a day.

Why not Chris Walker then? He provides better defense than Pagan, is a better base stealer, and hits for higher average

or he should get ABs everyday. which he isn't getting here. putting him in against lefties only sets him up to fail, which is a horrible idea. pagan sucks, yes, but he's a better option to fit the role of CF v. lefties/pinch runner than pie.
