Soriano - Breakout game.

You know what, I'm feeling it also. Sori goes 3/4 with a HR, 2B, and 3 RBI's!

I expected outrage at Cesar starting. What gives?

Cesar's got decent career numbers against Armas. "Blind squirrel meet nut" and all that, I guess.

Not anymore.

Is it going to matter?

Probably not.

11 ERA? Yep, that pretty much ensures that we'll get shut out tomorrow.

Armas' numbers are only BARELY better than Eyre's. Every time a player swings at a first pitch, he should drop for 20 pushups on the spot. PLEASE don't choke cubs.

Only if they don't get an XBH. I wouldn't mind Lee or Aramis swinging at a first pitch if they can take it out of the park.

Exactly. I don't hate swinging at the first pitch when it accomplishes something, but constantly swinging at the first pitch and grounding weakly to second or short gets on my nerves.

That's nice. Doesn't really tell us anything.

Well, it tells us that if you suck in April that chances are you're not a playoff team.

Yeah, I saw that and got depressed. Don't expect the Cubs to buck that trend.

*Warning: I am going to sound like a nerd in this post.*

It's actually not unusual for a playoff team to finish April 3 or more games under .500. According to the Statistics class I'm taking, things are unusual only if they occur less than 5% of the time. :P

You did.

But that's ok. We *are* on an internet message board. In real life nerdom occurs in less than 5% of the people. Here somewhat moreso.
