heh...wright and soriano homer for the first time on the same day.

Yep. May David hit 30 more this season, 5 more this week. And Soriano hit 40 more this season, no more this week!

4-1 start advantage will cause the score to look worse than it is. I'll lose 7 from Marquis (still a 29-point start), and a couple from Capuano, and you are very fortunate he got hurt. Cards offense did nothing today, and against lesser pitchers for the final 6 innings.

geez...all i need to make today a complete disaster is a three homer game from hawpe and cordero to have his arms eaten off by a shark. hope papelbon and nathan don't blow saves on consecutive nights very often this year...

my infield may need an overhaul...1/2 point on the week combined. and tim drew has scored more points this week than his sisters jd and stephen have combined.

VMart needs to start tearing it up or we need to increase scoring for walks.

i don't like that walks are only -.25 for pitchers and singles are -1.

just thought i'd throw that in. :D

Good point - though you know a hit is better than a walk right?

I love Hafner burning the shift . . . awesome!

Following Wednesday's games (after overnight deductions) I am now the #1 scoring team in the league for the entire season. And yet I am at .500 and currently out of playoff position. In other words, I'm the Cubs. :D

Top 3 teams from each division make it - top team gets a first round bye

Top 3 in each division, with the #1 seed getting a bye in the 1st round.

BTW, NSBB is 2.5 points behind NC Cubbies, with 2 high scores for the week and also 2-2.

Buddiga and I are neck and neck for 3rd in points.

The league's high scorer should get an automatic playoff spot regardless of won-loss record. :D

BTW, I'm also first in terms of fewest points scored by opponents. Basically I'm the equivalent of being first in the league in both hitting and pitching, but with a .500 record. Very Cub-like.

[it's not like they were just praising the red sox for making the decision...they were also mocking them for even thinking about making him start. for example...

Papelbon continues to impress and makes you wonder why the Red Sox ever considered moving this guy from the closer's role to a starting spot in the rotation.

if your two choices are 1) 200 innings from julian tavarez and 70 innings from papelbon or 2) 200 innings from papelbon and 70 from julian taverez, which would you choose?

Thank goodness I don't watch ESPN anymore.

Thought it was worth taking a shot on Dustin McGowan tonight against Cleveland. Too many walks, but he could end up with double digit points.

The joys of a young staff.

Not sure what Gorzelanny did to upset blue but it must've been a winner. 1H through 2.2 and then nothing gets called for a strike any longer.

Is it really sound analysis to assume Papelbon would be as good as a starter throwing 200 IP as he is throwing 70 relief innings? I don't think so.
