Man, yesterday was bad. I was up by 50 or so and now I'm down 10. At least I still have 2 starts (Lackey and Sabathia) to 1 (Sowers).

it would be nice if my offense started to produce regularly. are we still the top two scores?

Yeah, by about 21 points.

Amazing fact #497:

Scott Rolen is 0-18 this week and 0 for his last 24.

No walks, no strike outs, just a bunch of batted ball outs. He has had a perfect goose egg in my line up all week long.

I have Rolen in another league and he's been on my bench practically all year (I have another 3B by the name of Cabrera on the same team :D ).

I have another 3b in my line up at utility by the name of BJ Upton. If Rolen doesn't get his head out of his ass soon, someone else will be hitting utility while Upton plays 3rd.

0-5....

This is ABSURD!!! hahahaha.. My team is 8th in total points, and breakdown I'd be almost .500, but 0-5 i'll stand after this week. Amazing. I've never started worse than 2-3 I don't believe.

no wang in the lineup???

I also have Upton at utility in the league where I have Rolen. Upton is also eligible at 2B in that league, but I have Cano there. So basically I have Cabrera, Upton, Cano, and Rolen for three positions, and Rolen is odd man out. The only times I've used him is when Cabrera's or Upton's teams are off (that's a daily change league).

I've come to the conclusion that, as good of luck as I've otherwise had with my team this year, I'm the kiss of death for closers. Ryan goes on the DL. I then trade for Wickman, who himself goes on the DL less than a week later. I then trade for Frasor, who may be replaced as Toronto's closer. Good thing for the Cubs I don't have Dempster on my team (he was on my team last year, and we all know how he did).

what are the chances it would backfire again?

i don't care if the red sox score off johan (i assumed they wouldn't)...just take enough pitches so he can only last six innings.

I could use a closer.

i could use a 3b.

I could use Soriano

I'm more than willing to move Atkins, I could just use a replacement.

whew, only five innings for johan, and the brewers are knocking capps around. and then capps gets ejected for drilling fielder.

Hardy is a stud. Getting him off waivers makes getting my tail kicked a little easier to bear. If I had any sort of pitching right now...

139 points in offense

57 points in pitching

If you're interested in trading Papelbon or Nathan I'm all ears. Otherwise I think it's time for me to quit while I'm behind. :D

Really, my team has done quite well with only one real good closer anyway. I've thrown away two young pitchers; my supply isn't limitless.

Being bored, I took a quick look at the draft results at Roadkill.

So far, it looks like the best first round choice was at #15, Bronson Arroyo. The worst choice was Brett Myers.

In the second round the best pick was #27, Tim Hudson. The worst, Jeremy Hermida.

In the third round the 47th pick, Edgar Renteria, was the best choice. The worst, Kei Igawa.

On another note, are you still shopping a closer? :D
