It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't proposition.

Theriot's bat is significantly better than anything Cedeno and Izturis can offer. However, his defense leaves something to be desired.

Considering that Izturis and Cedeno aren't exactly defensively great at SS, either, I think Theriot at SS makes sense.

Cedeno isn't great at SS b/c he gets all ADD on the routine plays. The natural ability is there to pile up the gold gloves.

Agreed, but I don't think a silver slugger is in Cedeno's future.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Wednesday showed the tradeoff of how important Theriot's bat could be in the lineup.

That inning just showed the tradeoff of his defense-both the error and not being able to get a ball that a SS should get and instead having it go into LF.

It's an interesting tradeoff, and one that will just have to continue to be monitored.

Theriot's lack of range almost cost us a run there.

But it didn't.

Yeah, thanks to Soriano.

Well, more or less thanks to Edmonds being an idiot

Yeah, that was pretty Jacque Jones circa 2006.

I'm all for this tradeoff until Cedeno shows he can hit major league pitching.

Izzy should just get tarred and feathered already.

Honestly, give Barrett credit for that one. Soriano's throw was not very good, but Barrett blocked the plate and kept with the play to the very end.

Atleast it was a strong throw around the plate, if that was JJ the ball would have 25000000000 skipped to the cutoff man.

I was thinking Moises Alou circa 2004.

Agreed, but I think Barrett should get props when deserved. I tend to think he's a bit underrated around these parts. :D
