What really bothers me is that the Cubs have 100+ million Payroll and this is their record, as of currently.

Chi Cubs 7 11 .389

Compare that to the Royals.

Kansas City 6 12 .333

I'm a Cub fan first, and a Royals fan 2nd, but I'm really disappointed on how the start of the season is going, especially for the Cubs. I already knew that the Royals would start off rough, but I was expecting better than 7-11 from the Cubs in April.

Pitiful.

I am not even remotely surprised. Of course the Cubs come back twice, once in the 9th inning with 2 out, then simply give up a 3 run obliteration by Pujols to lose the game.

I simply cannot believe this franchise.

i think i am headed for an emotional breakdown and this game didn't help matters much

:(

Yeah. Cubs pretty much decide my mood for the rest of the day.. and a good chunk of the next day if there's a night game coming.

the cubs aren't worth it

I look at it this way. The Cubs aren't going to be good this year, but the rest of the division isn't going to be very good either so the Cubs have a chance. But if they don't win and don't make the playoffs, I won't be upset because I know that this is the last year of the devil Tribune Company owning this team, and I look for better things in the future. So if they do well this year, that's great, but if they don't, I don't really care. Bring on 2008 and beyond!

should they bother playing this one, or just forfeit and give the cards the victory?

I was thinking about that, but then I realized that the last time Miller pitched the Cubs managed to keep the game tied for 14 innings-so I'm still ready to see what the team can do. Besides, Wainwright has been living dangerously as well-his ERA is good, but a WHIP over 1.5 means that the Cubs still have a chance of getting some runs off of him.

Don't worry, I'm making the trek to Wrigley tomorrow and the Cubs are 10-0 in my last 10 trips. Mark this one down in the W column.

Wow guys...I just made it back and I cannot believe that. Maybe it's becasue I went on a bus this time from u of I instead of the train? That or miller is THAT bad that he cancels out my good luck :?

Cubs are now 0-2 in my visits to Wrigley this season. The other game was the Lilly vs. Lohse pitching duel we lost 1-0.

Why must the Cubs play such close an exciting games and then let me down?

No it's not your fault. I said I was going to blame you but. . The Cubs are actually PHYSICALLY UNABLE to win 2 games in a row. It is impossible in all the realms of reality and causality.

Are you hinting that they've done it once already, and I've forgotten?
