Phew, got out of the inning before having to face the meat of the line-up, Preston Wilson and Gary Bennet.

True fact:

Preston Wilson is .287/.332/.619 in his career against the Cubs.

Gary Bennet is .294/.378/.471 in his career against the Cubs.

Both represent the highest OPS for each player against teams in which they have a significant number of at-bats.

38 pitches for Reyes

51 pitches for Marquis

not surprising, given that the cards lineup is loaded with patient hitters and the cubs are a bunch of first-pitch hackers

That's part of it but Marquis has had some of those ground balls sneak by the INF defenders too. It's prolonged his innings.

that's not the biggest issue... cubs had seen fewer pitches per AB than the cards' hitters

Felix needs to stay in CF based on defense alone.

This is how I feel, he might struggle to hit at first (I believe that will come in time) but his defense/range/arm makes him extremely valueable to have in there. He could become the best defensive CF in the NL.

Dan Pie is fast

Felix = Dan in English?

You didn't know that?

Heh, I didn't.

Felix sounds cooler.

I'm kidding. :D

I love Felix Pie. I'm not afraid to say it. He gets incredible jumps out there.

He's definitely something special in the OF.

i don't think anyone would argue that he's not ready defensively... he's by far the best defensive outfielder in the system
