Yay Jazz

Well if they win this series, I hope they win the West.

I like the Jazz more than the Bulls right now. What with us having just one more Duke player but two fewer Illini players.

fixed

If only we still had Frank Williams!

those were the days. i pine for Khalid El-Amin as well

What about A.J. Guyton?

Consider me shocked not just that the Suns beat the Spurs tonight but in the way they didn't. I didn't see SA giving up and 8 point advantage going into the fourth quarter including a 10 point lead with 8:44 to go. You don't see the Spurs give away many leads like that.

So Robert Horry gets a two game suspension but his flagrant foul helped bring about the suspension of Stoudamire and Diaw for Game 5. I'd say the Spurs are big-time winners in that exchange.

Oh yeah, the Spurs definitely benefited with that.

With regards to the Horry foul, it wasn't as bad as it looked. I mean, it's simple physics. When a guy who is 6'10, 260 checks a guy who is 6'2, 190, of course the smaller guy is going to go flying.

I have to say this is a rule that should be reviewed this offseason. Diaw and Staudamire didn't even get involved in the situation.

They wanted to - especially Stoudamire - but were held back by the coaches. That's not saying they deserved a suspension though.

Yeah, I'm sure they'd have been involved if they hadn't been restrained. But they weren't involved and they were restrained. It's a really bad deal for the Suns and their guys didn't do anything wrong.

Hrm, Duncan and Bowen should have been suspended for this incident.

In a play that went entirely unnoticed until well after the game was over, both Duncan and Bowen actually left San Antonio's bench early in the second quarter after Francisco Elson and James Jones were entangled. Replays clearly show Duncan walking several steps onto the court as Elson and Jones appeared to be ready to get into it. Bowen then followed Duncan onto the floor, grabbed him and led him back to the bench. If the league does indeed follow the letter of the law, both Spurs players would also be suspended for Game 5.

That would be an interesting game. No Amare and Duncan. No Diaw and Bowen. At least it would make it a whole heck of a lot easier for the Suns to win Game 5.

GS up by 2 at the half.

sorry raisin, but matt barnes is extremely difficult to like.

He's one of those guys you love when he's on your team.

Man, this team just lost control when the going got tough.

Big, BIG difference between the two incidents. Diaw and Stoudamire (especially him) ran down the sideline to get close. Duncan basically stood up and took a step. And Bowen stepped out to pull Duncan back to the bench. The Duncan/Bowen thing was nothing.

Duncan and Bowen crossed the sidelines, just like Diaw and Stoudemire. The NBA said they were following the rule due to precedence and that it was black and white. This is pretty darn black and white to me.

The difference that I've heard is that the rule specifically states that you can't leave the bench area "during an altercation." The belief is that the league didn't consider this to be an altercation, therefore no punishment for Duncan or Bowen.
