I have never believed that to be true. I think a better example would be to have the Cardinals and Cubs switch rosters. There's not a chance in hell that all the breaks the Cards have caught over the years would have ever happened if those same people were in pinstripes.

I remember when a Yankee (Mussina IIRC) lost a perfect game with 2 outs in the ninth against the Red Sox.

I don't think so. I don't believe in curses, though. I think when you're a Yankee there is an expectation of winning and second doesn't count. I don't think that really exists with the Cubs organization.
