Don't get me wrong, I think DLee is awesome, but this quote is a great example of why he and Dusty got along so well:

Lee had other theories about what happened Sunday.

"I have a hard time being upset with hitting," he said. "Kyle Lohse, you're not going to pitch as well as he did. Sometimes you've got to tip your cap, and today was one of them.

Geez, I can almost hear it coming out of Dusty's mouth.

Hopefully the shakeup is Theriot getting to play SS when ARam comes back. Good old Dave van Dyck didn't even think of that one. He is trying to figure out where they can stick him in the outfield.

That and Murton getting playing time either in LF or RF. I'd rather see him getting time in RF because Jones is horrible.

Our 3 big thumpers (Fonz, DLee, Aram) have produced a combined total of one home run. In my mind that's the Cubs' problem that really sticks out above the rest.

I don't mind Ramirez (.972) and Lee (.937) because of their OPS's but Soriano is worrying me a little at the moment. I think all he needs is one big game or even one big hit and he'll be fine.

I like home runs, and I don't care who knows it. That is one of the many reasons why I hate this team right now.

I love home runs, and I want everyone to know it.

I was pointing out to a friend that Mark DeRosa has more home runs than:

1) Our four primary outfielders combined (0)

2) The rest of our starting infield (1 - Ramirez)

3) The rest of our entire starting lineup (1 - Ramirez)

And then people wonder why the offense is struggling!

We were counting on 110-120 HR's from Fonz/DLee/Aram. After 12 games they've produced zero HR's.

but we counted on maybe 12-15 from DeRosa, and he has 3.

There are 150 games left. Just wait....

And Mark DeRosa still has more home runs than:

3) The rest of our entire starting lineup (2 - Ramirez, Barrett)

1 actually, but your point is well taken.

Oops. Forgot about Aram's homer.

Floyd hit one, too, so #3 is out except for those rare occasions when Murton starts over him. :)

This thread was obviously the reason for the HR's today.

I think we need a "when can we officially worry about the lack of no-hitters?" thread.

We've needed that since 1972.

How about "When can we officially worry about the lack of World Championships?" :D

I like the concept, but it would be a short thread.

Answer: 95 years ago. The End.

or 98 years and counting

Well I looked at it from the standpoint that, if the Cubs were to win it this year, it would be a couple years before I started getting antsy again, so I decided that if I were 120 years old, I probably wouldn't have started worring until '11 or '12. Though in that case, the last 62 years would have been more than enough to make me drop dead from baseball alone, biological limitations aside.

I think he was referring to a 3 year honeymoon period when we, as Cubs fans, weren't worried about the lack of World Series'.
