You know, here are some of the things that I hate about not living in Chicago:

I don't get WGN on stupid Time-Warner cable.

I don't get to watch my Cubs, Bears, Bulls, and Blackhawks.

I don't get to eat deep dish pizza and bratwurst all the time.

I don't get to go to fan conventions.

I have to travel to go to Wrigley, Soldier Field, and the other venues.

The only intellegent Cubs fans I get to talk to are on the internet.

I HATE HEARING ABOUT THE DAMN YANKEES ALL THE TIME!!!

On the other hand, I don't have to deal with as much snow, so I guess it's not all bad. Just thought you might like to know how good you guys have it there :)

Change Yankees to Cardinals and I agree with you. It sucks being in cardinal country. With them 0-2 already they feel their season is already in jeopardy. It's so stupid.

I hear that...but there is a big part of me that smiles inside when I hear them cry about their 0-2 start..I of course, won't be happy until its a 0-162 start...but hey...they're getting there.

Oh don't get me wrong I am enjoying it. I told my teacher it smelled like someone took an el duque in class today but then he talked about his world series last year. It is hard to beat.

I don't get it, it snows more in NY than Chicago. Maybe not on long island, but the rest of the state.

Ask someone who has lived in both NY city and Chicago who has worse weather. How often does it snow in New York in April?

Buffalo is part of Canada not New York.

wait, didn't you say that you've never been to Chicago? So how would you know about pizza, brats, etc.? ;)

They talk about it incessently on every Chicago Sports venue I watch :( But hey, it won't be long till I get to go. As far as the snow, Buffalo gets more snow, but here in NE NY it's not nearly as bad. This year I think we got a total of 5 or 6 feet.

Thanks to having lived away from Chicago since enlistment 8 years ago and restricting my baseball interaction to these boards, the annoyance of the White Sox has been much closer to a non-issue for me. I would have gone nuts in '05 if I had been local. Plus, every year when I would catch the Cubs in Atlanta, I never had any trouble meeting large bunches of Cubs fans.

I miss going to Chicago. But, I love it here in San Diego. As long as I can still see games somehow, I'll survive. :D

As a New Jersian, I feel your pain. Although, I grew up in a Yankee household, so I don't mind them. I jsut hate all the attention they get, and I hate the Mets (another result of growing up in a Yankee house).
