A new poll should be made. Interstate roads should there be no speed limit at all?

Aw hell nevermind there would be no need for a poll anyway.

I know where a lot of the speed traps are, so I go 5 over there. On the highways I go about 10 over. On the interstate I usually go about 15-20 over.

I have a bit of a lead foot.

depends on the area of the speed limit. most times though i go between 5-10 as well. At least 5mph over. Anyone who goes below the speed limit and I just want to crush their skull with a sledgehammer.

If it's an open road and/or conditions are good i'm usually 5-10 over.

That being said; I am one who is known for slowing down to the "noticeably below" designation when someone is riding my tail. Oh, and when cops are around i tend to actually follow the law as well.

I will slow down to the speed limit if somebody is tailgating me but won't go much, if at all, below the speed limit.

But normally I usually go between 5 and 10 over the speed limit unless I know there is a speed trap. I tend to go a little faster during the day because I can see the cops a lot easier than at night.

I'm in the 5-10 crowd. And all you people who slow down when I come up on you in the left lane, I'm not tailgating, I just think you are farsighted - so I want you to be able to see that I'm back here waiting patiently for you to get the #&($ out of my way.

It depends. In Chicago, I'll go 10 over max. On semi-highways, I'll do up to 15. On interstates, I'll go about 15 (speed limit of 55) over.

It depends where I'm driving. If I'm in the city I usually drive at the speed limit, but if I'm on the highway or out in the middle of nowhere I go about 5 or 6 over.

Yeah, it depends on where I am. And if we're moving in traffic.

On the open freeway, I tend to go 80, which is 15 mph over the speed limit in town and 10 mph over the speed limit in the rural dessert and mountain areas. Of course when there's no traffic, most folks go at about 75-80 on the freeways.

the safest thing to do on highways is to fall into the traffic pattern. Sometimes that's close to the speed limit, sometimes that's 85 mph. When city driving, I usually stick close to the speed limit, as you never know when a delivery truck will be backing out of an alley.

In PA, state troopers are the only police allowed to run radar, so in State College, the local police are limited to timing devices to run speed traps. These devices incorporate two big white lines on the road, so if you see those, it's pretty obvious to slow down

I used to go about 85 on the interstate and 60 on two-lane local roads (speed limit 45)... but after wiggum gave me about 7 tickets in a 3.5 year stretch, I slowed down. No speeding tickets in the last 3.5 years (knock on wood)

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm just out driving for myself I'm usually 5-15 over. If I'm going to an assignment its the same unless its spot news and them I'm driving like a bat out of hell. If I'm feature hunting I'm usually going under the speed limit so I can see what's going on in the neighborhoods and I'm usually waiting for the people to call the police to report a suspicious vehicle with a man in side of with cameras that have really long lenses.
