If you think rain sounds crappy on the radio.. you ought to hear what thunder sounds like.. I had a game in West Tenn last year where a loud clap of thunder erupted just as we went back on the air from commercial break.. scared the crap out of me..

I have a knot in my stomach just thinking about seeing Prior pitch. How times have changed...

I'm calling it now. Prior pitches 4 innings, letting up 1 run and 3 K's.

Prior 4.0 4h 1r 3k's

CubbieChris is a superstar today!

I just got home. Man, was on target with that...

Do you think that saying came about because somebody got really startled and actually pooed themself? Or is it just a figure of speech?

Mark Prior will be struck by lightning.

Before or after the attack by rabid wolverines?

God, I really hate U of M.

State Sucks!!!

You're right, the entire state of Michigan does suck.

I don't disagree with that. Michigan is in terrible trouble. Luckily, I'm moving to Chicago in May. :D

If they call it now Prior gets the loss, which completely erases any of the good from this outing.

good point, throwing the ball well is one thing, but he needs to learn how to win.

You are in rare form today.

I'll guarantee you the last thing the Cubs are looking at in Prior's start is if he was the losing pitcher. The fact that he made an encouraging start is the best news of the day regardless of the decision.

I think goony was just being a comedian. ;)

There's a lot of dislike for the whole W-L stat for pitchers on this forum. I am right there with them.

Mark Prior was more impressive Thursday, allowing just a first-inning run in four frames against the Padres.

Prior's velocity got better as the start went on, and he hit 90 mph on the gun a couple of times during the second half of the start. He also appeared to have his best curveball so far this spring. The performance is unlikely to get him a rotation spot to open the season, but it leads to more hope that he'll contribute sometime within the first month.
