That article doesn't sound all that good, but it is encouraging he threw 60 innings, didnt walk the world (whip was 1.00 for the day) and gave up no runs. Granted, he wasn't pitching against Pujols or anybody like that but it has to be his best outing yet. The pitch count is high, but given he faced 16 batters, it less the 4 pitches per batter. discouraging if he wasn't throwing that hard but still no reason to jump off a ledge.

Prior: 4 IP, 2H, 0 R 69 pitches

I'm waiting to hear Bruce's assessment...., but just as a number line that is pretty damn good....not sure what more you'd ask for...

Any word on Prior?

Read back a couple of pages...or go here.

Yikes. Talk about a complete overreaction. He gave up 2 hits and 0 runs in 4 innings (granted it was minor league hitters). But he's completely done for. And what's the calves thing? Just stupid.

Well the only reason to believe he wasnt throwing hard is that, "it wasn't popping like Marquis".

Yeah, but what kind of hitters were in the lineup?

True. Even at 84-85 the glove can pop

I think Aramis makes those plays...

Agreed.

Theriot's instincts at third are still pretty uninspiring.

If it were up to me, I'd give the 25th man to Scott Moore.

Well looks like Miller will win the 5th spot. Guzman does not look very good.

Have you watched the whole game? He's looked good up until this inning. Looks like he's tiring a bit. Those curveballs are starting to hang.

That gives you a little perspective of the mindset of the guy critiquing Prior's performance.

Guzman has looked damn good today. His fastball has good velocity, and his offspeed stuff is pretty sick. He's also been getting a lot of grounders.

Our defense has just been bad.

Dope, Spears.. a mixture I'm sure. We'll know more once a newspaper posts something I am sure. It's odd if the workout has been over that long that none of the major chicago papers have anything yet.
