I can't believe these Royal announcers. They spent the entire first half of the inning criticizing the Soriano signing. Among other things, he's not clutch, he's not a clubhouse leader, he doesn't have enough RBIs relative to home runs, he strikes out too much for a lead-off hitter (I've never understood this logic), and he has a poor BA with 2 outs with RISP.

It's not enough to simply state that his production doesn't justify his contract. They actually concede that he puts up great numbers, he's a 40/40 guy by golly! No, their big critique is that, while he has the numbers, he's not "impactful" enough. Apparently "impact" being measured by clutch+leadership+RBI-HR.

Now they are talking Bartman. Kill me.

According to Lou, Hill has his rotation spot locked up and Theriot has his spot on the roster, as well.

It would have been nice to follow that last half inning, but the announcers spent practically the entire time talking about Bartman. I kid you not.

Good AB by Pie to draw the non-walk on the 3-1 pitch.

Second ball 4 is actually a walk.

According to Sullivan, Lou wants to narrow the 5th starter's race down to 2 pitchers by the 20th.

Big outing by Prior today.

It isn't that big. I think if he stays healthy the race is Prior vs. Prior alternative.
