Speaking of Prior, what do you guys feel you "need" to see out of him today.

I'm personally happy if his arm is attached and he is throwing 85, but in all seriousness i'd like to see him consistently work between 87-90. If he can top 90 then great, if not, I don't care. At the same time, I don't care if he gets roughed up, as long as he has some velocity and can locate a pitch or two.

EDIT: On a related note; I wonder if they'll have a radar gun visible on the screen? I hope so.

Me 2. I like to see the velocity and command of the fastball. I dont really care if the curve ball is everywhere. A little 'bite' would be nice even if its out of the zone.

Good pitching day.

A little improvement in velocity is good (as is movement of the FB), but command of the FB is most important. I hope he's involiving the offspeed stuff in today's outing.

Does anyone think Cedeno will become a regular .750 OPS player? Will DeRosa maintain his .800+?

There's a chance Cedeno could put up a 750 at Iowa

In a couple years, Cedeno could become that-DeRosa is probably not likely that he'll be that high, but I could see as very reasonable that he'll be over 750.

I expect 750-800 at Iowa, hope for 700 if he was a big league regular.

Can't see DeRosa maintain 800+.

I sure hope Lou considering how the catchers match up stat-wise with certain pitchers is just a lot of talk to make Blanco feel good... Edited by Jon

Lilly vs. Brown

Curve - huge hack and miss 0-1

Curve outside 1-1

Ball 2-1

Fastball away swing and miss 2-2

Curveball away - groundout to 2B

Side retired, no runs scored.

0-0 after 1 inning.

I think you should do that to a point. Blanco is going to get his 30-40 starts-to use the pitching matchups to determine when those starts are going to come is a good idea IMO. To give him more starts than Barrett needs off to rest because of the pitching matchups? That's not such a good idea.
