Recap for those of us with a room full of students and can't listen, please.

You should be teaching if you have a room full of students!!!!!!

At least look at NSBB on your planning period, like I am doing right now :)

Okay, how about a recap for those of us in Iraq on a crappy satellite feed that isn't good enough to stream any kind of audio or video?

I only caught the end, but he basically said he's not at all worried about Prior and thinks he'll be fine by the end of the month. Rome brought up Hendry doing the Lilly deal from the hospital and gushed after the interview about how hard of a worker Hendry is.

I am. They're working on reading comprehension sections, and when they finish we go over it. So, I'm teaching for 10-15 mins, and then they work for 10-15 mins.

i'm guessing during the season they're going to get more like 25-30? :D

it seems that hendry has aged rapidly over the last 3 years.

Before that he said we had a crappy season last year, and there are no excuses, not health, not unhealthy pitchers. 3 million people came to support the Cubs and they deserve better than that.

Fitzsimmons gave Hendry the financial means to go out and get who they wanted and they did. 2/3 of the 300 million was on two outstanding players (Soriano and Ramirez).

then moved on to how great Wood looked, and how he feels the weight loss (clearly not his own) is going to help Woody this season. He expects good things and thinks Woody just wants to prove to Chicago he's the pitcher he can be.

then on to the above summaries regarding prior and lilly. He's not concerned at all about prior/prior's velocity.

oops...I'll fix it.

I teach 7th and 8th grade. We're nearly a week until standardized testing, so we're spending lots of time reading short selections and identifying key words, main idea, inferences, etc.

Thanks.

I bet there were also long periods of silence punctuated by hip slang that Hendry didn't quite understand.

No but it took him 4 minutes to say the exact same thing 10 different ways.

"Talk about efforting"

pause

"Jim Hendry"

pause

"Efforting from the hospital"

pause

"Just got down from the meat wagon"

pause

"rather than tear into his jello and creamed turkey like most would Jim Hendry dials up a trade"

pause

"Who does that?"

pause

"His name is Jim Hendry"

pause

"What a great interview"

pause

"I'm great"

pause

"You clones out there are lazy unemployed losers"

When I saw the title I thought you were referencing the HBO series

I shudder to think of what role they'd cast him in.

for some reason i've been listening to rome lately, and the above post is exactly what he does after each interview. then he reads 20 emails which basically kiss rome's ass, but include enough stuff about the interviewee so that it's not completely obvious that the listener has a boy crush on rome.

he also uses slang and lingo like a high school freshman from the suburbs that thinks he's black.
