From the Cubs:

The Chicago Cubs today announced that all 162 of the club’s regular-season contests will be televised in the Chicago area.

A total of 68 games will be televised by WGN while Comcast SportsNet will feature 72 contests (including eight on Comcast SportsNet Plus) and WCIU will show eight games. In addition, 14 Cubs spring training games will be televised in Chicago (four on WGN and 10 on Comcast SportsNet).

Nine Cubs contests are currently scheduled to be televised by the Fox Network, while one game is scheduled for ESPN.

WGN will televise the Cubs’ April 2 season opener at Cincinnati. The team’s next game, an April 4 affair in Cincinnati, will be televised by Comcast SportsNet Plus.

Cubs games have been televised by WGN since 1948 and by WCIU since 2000. This will be Comcast SportsNet’s third season televising the Cubs.

Both Len Kasper and Bob Brenly return for their third season in the Cubs’ broadcast booth. The duo was recognized following the 2006 season with a local Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement for Individual Excellence On Camera: Programming, Play-by-Play.

The 2007 broadcast schedule is attached.

Only 1 ESPN Sunday Night game?

I always thought that was more of a liquid thing and it depended on how well the teams were doing?

Who wants to listen to Joe Morgan anyway?

Not I but that mute button works really well on my remote. As a matter of fact I renamed the mute button and I call it my buck button.

I freaking hate that there are games on WCIU. I cant see all of the rest of them down here except those, and those are never Wednesday afternoon games or something...they're always games I would normally get to watch...

Well you could still be in Idaho!

68+ games isn't bad I guess for me and it might even creep into 80 or so if things go well and they are on against the Mets and Braves.

Probably my most favorite game of the Dusty Era. Certainly the best game of 2006.

Is it just that crazy math they are teaching the kids these days or does that add up to 158 for anyone else?

I was at that game in the CF bleachers, it was insane...unfortunately the next 17 games I attended we lost.

remind me how much mlb.tv is again? This new laptop has an S-Video output, so I could just hook it to the Trinitron...

You'd still get a crap signal.

MLB sends the games out in a tiny little resolution, one so small that it looks bad enlarging it on my own laptop monitor.

True.

The bitrate is supposed to be about double what it was last year.

MLB.TV on a 25 inch TV was watchable last year.

Nice, I've been waiting for this to come out. I always write all the televised games on my planner so I don't miss any games that I can watch here.
