I've always been a supporter of Rich Hill. I think I'm gonna download his aug 26th game (against st. louis). Yes I'm paying $4 to see rich hill pitch. God I need ST to start soon. ouch. .

Nice caption to the very up-close picture: "RICH HILL An untouchable"

Also a great quote by Hill:

"Get them out any way you can," he said. "I was striking out a lot of people, but I'm finding the fewer pitches you use the deeper into the game you're going to get.

It's great to hear, from a pitcher who relied so heavily on striking out batters in the minors, that there's value to saving pitches.

i roomed with a guy in college who went to Milton High School... I wonder if he knew Rich Hill.

By the way, the photo at the top of that article is bizarre. But, it's a good article. I'm glad that Rich will be working on his change in the pre-season, but I'm still afraid that this incompetent organization will see him get hit hard as he's working on it and decide to start him in the minors.

He just figured this out? Did Greg Maddux need to tell him this?

MLB Digital Downloads. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/video/dds_sell.jsp

If you search around you can find the buying links for regular season games from last season. I just downloaded one of the Cubs september games a few weeks ago.

The quality isnt great. 400x300, which really SUCKS because they are DRM protected, so i cant convert them to 320x240 and send them to my Zen Vision:M and since theyre DRM WMV's (which my Zen can play) but I need the 320x240 size at max. Maybe I could contact MLB.com and see if they can get a smaller resolution. WBC games last season from digital downloads were 320x240 and work fine.

Id love to be able to watch some old Cubs gems during class :(

It's a long thread, but if you do a little reading there, it'll tell you how to get rid of the DRM. Once you get WMP11beta or WMP10 set up right, it's very easy and quick (usually 15-30 seconds for a 300mb file). This program accepts batch jobs too! Only caveat is you have to have the license first, then you can strip the DRM and do what you want with the file afterwards. It won't help you crack DRM for something you're not authorized to view. If you have a hard time finding a site that still hosts the file, send me a PM.

You got a favorite Hill game? I liked the matchup against cart on 8-26 but ofcourse I didn't like that they lost. BTW people that's what I was talking about, and they are $3.99 a pop. Expensive, but if it's a REALLY good game, it's worth it to me. .

Thank you for that valuable comment. Did I strike a nerve? Or were you just trying to fulfill your 8 post-a-day quota?

Like you comment was any better?

Anyway yeah, it's a good read and it's nice to see a pitcher realizing the bolded.

Why would I be mad at Rich Hill? I was just pointing out a quote that made him seem dumb.

I think a lot of young pitchers don't realize that fewer pitches is the way to go. IMO getting pitchers to throw a change-up is a very tough sell because there is so much failure that goes with learning it. It's just easier to throw the ball by somebody for a lot of these guys which is something they have been able to do most of their careers until they get to a level where the batters can catch up with their fastball.
