Tommie Harris and Charles Tillman returned to the field today.

“I feel good right now. Dr. Cooper said I might be faster the way they tightened it up. So my explosion felt good. Everything went well; we’ll just see how it goes.”

Harris insisted that the chances of re-injuring his surgically-repaired hamstring are minute.

“Nothing’s wrong with my hamstring,” he said. “It’s the tendon that popped, just like if I tore my bicep or pec. I don’t have any defects in my hamstring. I didn’t pull my hamstring. [The injury] can’t come back. They put sutures in my bone and hooked it back.”

In other news, Runnels injured himself last week and was waived today. Obafemi Ayanbadejo was on-hand for a tryout.

It's an Ayanbadejo monopoly!

The Chicago Bears signed veteran fullback Obafemi Ayanbadejo to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Eh, he's about average. Hard to really tell because he played for the Cards who never had a decent OL while he was there. I think he could be a decent FB for the Bears though. Certainly better than Runnels.

Man, I don't think I've seen that since it happened live. That gave me chills all over again. I got butterflies in my stomach when he made that cut back inside, and I already knew what was going to happen! That's probably the #2 most exciting thing I've ever seen from one of my favorite teams (#1 being the 03 Division clincher, of course).

damn you, now i cant stop watching it.

Easily the most exciting sporting moment of my life. I lost my voice after that. Man that was so sweet. Too bad they lost. :(

I spilled my beer on my friend, and twisted an ankle jumping up and down and then trying to do the worm.

sigh... devin hester was ridiculous in the sb, so was our d-line in a bad way.

The comeback against the Cardinals on MNF still ranks up there for me...

I'll take the Cardinals comeback, and try to forget the SB runback was attached to a terrible game. For me that runback exists in a vacuum, the rest of the game doesn't exist 8-)

Best news of the offseason:

The three-year veteran explained to the team Web site and Chicago-area reporters that his injury was not the standard hamstring problem but rather a torn tendon. The chances of reinjuring the tendon, he said, are negligible.

"Nothing's wrong with my hamstring," Harris said. "It's the tendon that popped, just like if I tore my biceps or [pectoral]. I don't have any defects in my hamstring. [The injury] can't come back. They put sutures in my bone and hooked [the tendon] back. ... [it] will never pull again. It's more likely for the right one to pull than the left because this one should be there for life now because of the screws and stuff. So I should be faster, and I should be stronger, so we'll see."

I'm a little skeptical of his interpretation of the situation, nevertheless, I'm very optimistic about his ability to contribute going forward.

Yeah, I'm not sure if he knows what's going on but it sounds to me like he's repeating something someone told him. Hopefully a doctor. He's been saying this kind of stuff for a while now. Hopefully it's true because he's a great player.

That would certainly be interesting.

Would they carry 4 RB's? I think he would be good insurance in case of a Benson injury (I think he'd do a better job than Peterson would) but do the Bears have space to roster him?

Peterson and Wolfe are both likely special teams players, which helps with roster issues. I don't think 4 RB is overkill, as long as the guys are contributing.

That's true. If the Bears could get him for a reasonable price, I think it would be a good move. He's shown he can produce when healthy and I think he'd be a much better option than Peterson if something happened to Benson.

love AP. not sure why others don't.

I love him at 3rd string and special teams, not as the primary backup.

Yep...I suspect he can thank a lot of his success on the fact that he's not someone the other team prepares for.
