I've updated the broadcast schedule with the XM schedule and opposing team broadcast information.

I couldn't find spring training broadcast info for the Diamondbacks or the Rockies.

Does anyone know what the MLB.com radio listing is for some of the Giants' broadcasts? Does it mean it will be available via MLB.com / the Giants website?

It would be nice if XM picked up the March 2, 15, 23 & 27 opposing team broadcasts. You can email them to suggest just that at mlb@xmradio.com or call (800)852-9696.

Looks that way. A Rockies fan at whatifsports tracked down the spring training radio broadcast schedule for the Rox, but sadly they aren't covering games vs. the Cubs. FSN-CO is picking up the March 20 game, so perhaps that will be available via mlb.tv.

I just emailed mlb.com to find out where their schedule was for both audio and video. It's usually up by now, but I wonder if that's just the nature of Spring Training - perhaps the teams aren't all sure yet what is going to be available? Anyway, as soon as I hear something, will be sure to post - the premium subscription should be worth a fairly quick response! XM, by the way, does pick up all broadcasts, so it could be that they just didn't know about those listed above (or had found out so recently that they hadn't updated their schedule yet) - either way, it can't hurt to contact them, just to be sure!

Thanks! I didn't have XM during spring training last season, so I wasn't sure whether they did pick up every broadcast game -- good to know.

I'll update it once the XM schedule updates.

So what you I be doing (buying) if I want to catch most ST games that are not on WGN or comcast? I can subscribe to XM or mlb.tv but not both. I just really like following the cubs ST.

As it stands now, it looks like you'd get one extra tv game (March 20) vs seven radio games (March 2, 3, 5, 8, 15, 23, 27), so it depends really on what you prefer and what the minimum sign-up is for each service. If you can't sign up just for March, then it makes more sense to evaluate each service for how much you'll use it over the subscription time.

Damn, the Padres change from Mighty 1090 to 107.5 FM? I actually got 1090 up here in LA. :(

Didn't they change from the Mighty 1090 last season? I thought I heard another radio station mentioned when I listened to the Padres/Cubs via Gameday Audio last season... Of course, I have no first hand knowledge because I live in Illinois.

Edit: This site says those stations are owned by the same company. I see your gripe. The difference for you is that the AM signal is stronger.

For those outside the Chicago area, is there any way to hear the WGN radio games? I know during the regular season, the normal station feed blacks out during games because of MLB's Gameday audio service, but I was hoping spring games might be streamed from WGN, or that Gameday is available as a free trial during ST. Anyone know the deal?

Anybody ever buy into the MLB tv option as opposed to Gameday Audio? My Gameday Audio renews yearly, but I'm contemplating switching to the MLB tv package. Anyone know if they use local telecasts, i.e., are Len and Bob commentating similarly to Pat and Ron's broadcasts on Gameday? Thanks!

EDIT: P.S., nevermind. Let's play some ball. I'm actually starting to be productive at work, and it's frightening.

I'd get XM.

WGN no longer can stream spring training games under the agreement with MLB. The options outside of Chicago would be Gameday Audio and/or XM radio. As far as I know, Gameday doesn't do the free ST trial anymore.

On XM they said that Zito would be starting for the Giants Thursday (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW).

ETA, from Cubs.com:

Jason Marquis will face new Giants ace Barry Zito on Thursday in the Cactus League opener at HoHoKam Park. On Friday, Carlos Zambrano will start for the Cubs against the Angels' Joe Saunders. Rich Harden is scheduled to start Saturday for Oakland against Wade Miller, and Jon Garland will start Sunday for the White Sox against the Cubs' Hill.

I actually get both...I can't get XM reception at work, so get mlb.tv for the gameday audio there. Then, I travel for work enough that I also get the TV package so I can watch the Cubs from my hotel room in Atlanta, or wherever I might be. The TV looks to be improved this year, and the premium, where you can set up alerts to pop when certain (fantasy) players come up, seems pretty cool. I would also vote XM if you don't have the issue at work, though...I can't get enough of mine!

For those of you who have subscribed to the mlb.tv or gameday audio packages, I got an email back regarding my "where the heck is the schedule?" question.

On mlb.com, go to

schedule > spring training

http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/index.jsp#20070227

or, there's an article on the front of mlb.com that gives you this:

http://mlb.mlb.com/mediacenter/index.jsp#20070228

which is a different link yet again. Looks like, by selecting the "open calendar" feature on that page, they don't quite have the rest of things built out yet.

They seem a bit behind this spring...kind of surprising seeing that they're trying to sell their package right now.

Thanks! I added the second link to the front page. I'm going to hold off on the first until they stop showing every single game as being televised & available on MLB.tv.

Sadly, the DBacks (KTAR) won't be broadcasting the March 13 game. Looks like that game won't be available via any type of broadcast.

Since I had to request the DBacks spring training radio broadcast schedule via email, here it is for any lurking Arizona fans out there.
