I had emailed XM a few days ago about whether they were going to pick up some of the games that are being broadcast but aren't on the XM schedule -- like today's game vs the Angels.

Here's the reply for people who were wondering what the XM policy is:

The link for the schedule is the following: http://www.xmradio.com/schedule/sport/get_mlb_schedule.jsp

We carry non-split-squad games that are available from the home team flagship stations. If a particular game is not carried on XM, it’s usually because it’s a spit-squad game or the flagship station is not carrying the game themselves.

So what you I be doing (buying) if I want to catch most ST games that are not on WGN or comcast? I can subscribe to XM or mlb.tv but not both. I just really like following the cubs ST.

Come again?

What would you be doing (or buying) if you wanted to catch the most spring training games. MLB.tv or XM radio service.

I'd get XM.

Thanks, I'll check that out. However last time just recently I tried a trial and I couldn't simply just listen on the internet. I'd need some kind of device, right? Atleast I couldn't find a way.

Nevermind, I signed up for Mlb.tv which includes audio. I think I am going to do this year, just going month by month, and maybe only have it in ST, Sep, and hopefully Oct.

You can listen to most XM channels online (and some exclusive online XM channels), but their agreement with MLB doesn't allow them to stream the MLB game broadcasts.

ok, so when the XM schedule shows the game starting an hour later, they do not delay the broadcast, they pick up the game live after the other game is over

Good to know. They responded to my scheduling question but not the question about the late start times.

ETA: The only other XM game with a late start time is tomorrow's game vs the White Sox, which is also on WGN TV & Radio.
