My God, I think one reporter asked Moose if he wants to win the game.

You have got to be kidding me

This is wall-to-wall Bears tonight, since Indy doesn't arrive until tomorrow.

Regarding the difference in how the Colts and Bears are approaching their arrival and preparations for Super Bowl week, I don't see what the big deal is. It's not like either team has been here before. Dungy has never led his team to a Super Bowl so he is just taking the approach he thinks makes sense. Likewise with Lovie Smith.

Barrett Robbins was bi-polar, his Super Bowl experience wouldn't have mattered regardless of what the Raiders may have done. And btw that game was played in San Diego not Miami. Didn't Robbins end up passed out in Tijuana or some such place?

My only concern is Tank Johnson for obvious reasons but I'd have to think the team will take every measure to prevent him from getting in trouble.

Speaking of trouble, didn't the 1985 team go completely wild and enjoy the Super Bowl experience in New Orleans? Or for another example you can look at the Raiders-Eagles Super Bowl back in the early 80's. The Raiders lived it up and had a good time. The Eagles played it strict and to the vest. The final result worked out for Oakland. 8-)

I think that was Jaws' team too, right? He said something about that today---that they were in strict lockdown and it didn't make any difference they still lost.

If the guys go out tonight and maybe tomorrow and live it up a little, I don't think it's going to matter. I just don't want to get to Thursday and hear someone got bailed out of jail, or players have been showing up late for meetings or that kind of crap.

I actually don't want it to happen for either team.

You win that Super Bowl and the rest of your life you can party.

lol, why are you making such a big deal of this? I highly doubt what they do at night will really matter.

I'm not suprised at being laughed at a little on this (I'm a big boy I can take it).

I seriously think this is one of those things that nobody will speak about, but has the potential to have an impact if one of the teams gets too lose down there. It's happened before...

when did it happen before?

I remember very distinctly when that Atlanta situation happened, all of a sudden the only thing that was being talked about was how he was caught with a hooker, and what would the team do to him, etc. etc. That was the only thing anyone was talking about after that---the only thing the team heard until up to game time. I think it became a HUGE distraction for the Falcons.

Seth Wickersham of ESPN: This was part of his insider blog today:

What if, in nine days, the Super Bowl isn't nearly the Indy romp nearly everyone expects?

What if, in the midst of the nation slipping Good Luck wishes to Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy, the Bears actually show up?

What if Indy's pass protection, which looked shaky at times against the Pats, can't handle Adewale Ogunleye and Alex Brown?

What if the Bears decide to play the type of run defense that had pundits thinking in September that this could be the best defense ever?

What if Manning, with everything to lose, gets jittery, starts dancing in the pocket and reverts to winging it off his back foot?

What if Rex Grossman, with nothing to lose, gets ticked off at everyone who says he's the worst QB to ever start in a Super Bowl - worse than Trent Dilfer, David Woodley, and Tony Eason? - and plays like the quarterback who passed for 23 touchdowns this season, more than Philip Rivers, Big Ben, Brett Favre, Tony Romo, Chad Pennington, and Jake Delhomme?

What if Thomas Jones and Cedric Benson run easily over the Colts' defense, which has tightened up the past three weeks but should be tested thoroughly by Bears' offensive coordinator Ron Turner?

What if Charles Tillman and Nathan Vasher stifle Indy's receivers off the ball and allow Chicago¹s Tampa 2, which forced the Pats into five turnovers earlier this year, to work its magic?

What if the fact that the Colts rank 32nd in third-down defense haunts them?

What if the Bears passing game that didn¹t allow a sack or commit a turnover against the Saints is able to complete more than 11 of 26 passes?

What if, after an interception, Manning sinks into a demoralized funk, as he did after Asante Samuel picked him off in the AFC Championship game, and Dungy again has to pull him from it?

With if Joseph Addai¹s pass blocking, which by all accounts has been outstanding this year (see below), fails under the confusing blitzing schemes of a veteran defense?

What if Devin Hester plays in Miami like he did while he attended the University of Miami?

What if on Monday morning we look back and realize that we should have seen this coming, that the Bears had eight Pro Bowlers and didn¹t win 15 games by accident?

Not saying it will happen. But it could. What if, in nine days, the Super Bowl isn't nearly the Indy romp nearly everyone expects?

I agree that it was an absolutely huge distraction for the Falcons that year.

Haha what a great picture.

Just saw Rex's interview on the Final Word for Fox, and he looks like he's ready to go. I'm calling for a monster game from him.

I saw some of the press conference. Now I know why they get paid so much money. It's to make up for all the brain cells that were killed off having to listen to the media's questions.

Nothing but amazingly dull, repetitive, unoriginal, generic, meaningless, insulting, mind-numbing crap. I'm sure it'll make for great fluff pieces that will prevent there from being more valuable advertising space in the papers.

No, we don't want to win. The 1985 team won, then they couldn't handle the pressure of defending the title. We don't want to have to deal with that pressure, and the best way to avoid it is to not win in the first place.
