Seattle's secondary is a joke right now thanks to injuries. Even Grossman should light them up, assuming he prepares for this game.

I read somewhere that the Seahawks signed someone to their active roster who was working as a loan officer and was studying to be a border guard until Seattle contacted him.

There's a guy that's last game had been 1/1/06 that played on Saturday, probably the same guy.

Hopefully the Saints lose to the Eagles too.

But I'm reasonably confident in this matchup. I think we can beat them.

It floored me that Dallas didn't go after him. His coverage what crap, but that's to be expected. he didn't have time to understand the schemes.

Grossman had better be all over whoever is matching up with him.

We're going to own this game if the offensive gameplan is halfway decent.

They said he played halfway decent, but thats probably because Dallas didn't have any tape on him and know what to expect.

Mark Schlereth continues to prove that the national media have no ability to properly analyze a quote:

There are a couple things I'm looking forward to next week. The first is seeing how Rex Grossman plays after his admission that he didn't give his all in the Bears' final regular-season game against the Packers. I want to see how he responds. For him to admit he selfishly put himself above the team is unbelievable. I'm sure his teammates will rally around him, but I'm also sure they are looking at him sideways.

There is a trust factor that he has to rebuild after this admission. I'm sure he's been put on notice by his teammates and that's what he needs right now. If he goes out there and lays an egg and the Bears lose, then I think he's done as their quarterback.

Can someone find me the quote where Rex said that he didn't think the game was important and didn't care what happened? Because I think he said that because of the circumstances, he didn't prepare as hard as he should have.

I really hope the Bears win this game. I can't take another home playoff loss against a lower seeded team.

As opposed to a home playoff loss to a higher seeded team?

oh wait thats impossible.

I really don't know which of those two teams I'd rather face. I probably shouldn't look ahead, and I know the Bears wont be...

I think I'd prefer the Saints, honestly. They have a weak defense and their offense isn't really well balanced at all.

You think the Bears doubters were bad this year, if we lost this game, expect to here us dismissed as afterthoughts no matter how good we are next year. Even if we go 15-1 while giving up 5 points a game and score 35 points per game, we will be counted out until we win a playoff game.

Regardless of how Grossman plays, I want to see the defense pissed off and inspired to the point of absolutely dominating Seattle. They can, and they should shut that offense down. Alexander is not doing anything since coming back from injury. Hasselback is a good QB, but not elite. And he hasn't been playing particularly well. The Bears line really needs to step up and determine the outcome of this game.

If Grossman can't play well against Seatle's decimated secondary at home, then we've got a real problem.

Crappy weather on Sunday might make it very difficult for either passing game to get the job done.

Didn't think about the weather.

I'm actually not really excited about it. I'd rather them be playing in conditions where the footing was better. I kind of feel that bad weather closes the gaps between good and not as good teams. I hope I'm wrong.

The Bears running game looks much better than Seatle's at this point. That could be a potential positive.

I don't know if anyone really cares about DVOA, but Footballoutsiders think that Seatle is more a product of luck and their schedule than anything else.

According to DVOA, they rank 27th on offense, 20th on defense, and 25th overall.

He has had a 201 yard (against GB) and a 140 yard game (against SD) since coming back.

And he's been held to under 4 ypc in every other game.

John Clayton's breakdown:

Seatle will win if:

1. Hasselback gets hot.

2. Alexander gets hot.

3. Defense plays well.

Chicago will win if:

1. Rex doesn't self destruct.

2. D-line plays well.

3. A WR or TE get's hot.

Hard hitting commentary.

If you want the real scoop, check out Terry Bradshaw's column on Foxsports.com. In one sentence he says he can't pick this game. In the next sentence, he picks the Bears. He spends about 15 paragraphs saying that he's just not comfortable with Rex Grossman, but he really likes him....

Oh yeah, and he doesn't like that Rex was honest...he think Rex should've lied, even if what he said was true, because that's what Terry would've done.

Dan Marino said something similar yesterday during the pregame, i.e. "you don't say that-even if it's true and it's how you feel, don't say it".

Alexander really didn't look like he had much of a burst in him for most of that game. We should be able to bottle him up, which means it comes down to our secondary vs Hasselback, and that's a matchup I like.

ok everyone, I'm back!!! And VERY excited. The Seahawks actually won! WOOO!!! And I am very happy to be going to Chicago as opposed to N.O.

I think that this game will be better then the one during the season. The secondary is a concern but Trufant is likely back and Jennings played out of his mind. BTW, the guy that you are talking about is Pete Hunter who did not play all last season and is a nickel back. Our secondary didn't do too bad from what I saw. But then again, i was in Mexico this weekend so who knows what I saw :)

Anyone have an extra ticket for the game? Maybe I will fly there!

Cornerback Marcus Trufant probably won't play because of a high-ankle sprain

:-s

Perhaps "back" means "back on IR" ;)

Expect the Bears to make that happiness wear off big time in about 6 days.
