I will be deploying to the Middle East in four days, and I would appreciate it very much if this thread could be used as a news flash on the day to day happenings for the '07 season. Somewhere I can go when time allows to get an honest opinion on the season. I will not be back until September, hopefully in time to watch the CUBS clinch the Central.

 

I'd much rather get the news from fellow CUBS fans on the ups and downs of the season rather than the sugarcoated version via CUBS .com. Any participants in this matter are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm overwhelmed with gratitude...thanks to all of you. I will be in a country other than Iraq. Thats all I can reveal right now due to OPSEC (operationial security).

 

I will be training /advising troops under UN command...should be interesting.

I probably will not leave the FOB (Forward Operating Base)...but I did hear there may be some humanitarian missions to nearby villages.

 

I'm deploying under Army command so anything is possible.

2/13 - Z makes a comment about leaving if the Cubs don't give him Barry Zito money by the end of Spring Training. Everyone here freaks out, a lot of people call for his head.

 

2/15 - Z clarifies, is offered a 5 year deal for similar to Zito money. Says even if they don't sign him by the end of spring, the Cubs have first shot at resigning him.

 

Also, 24 hours into camp, Prior and Wood are still healthy. Hope this helps

Within 15 minutes of UMFan83 making this post, it has been announced that Kerry Wood fell out of a hot tub and bruised his ribs and is out 4-6 days
