I didn't say I was sold on him, I said I'm on his bandwagon. He's saying all the right things, and that's a start. It's better than the Baker excuse parade that's for sure.

Not I. I have always been neutral on any player, or any manager. I thought Lou was a good option, but prefered girardi. But now that he has spoke alot in chicago media, I like his style. I think he'll be a good manager.

I've come to the conclusion that outside of making a lineup card the manager doesn't do much else that is useful.

 

As long as Lou doesn't bat Izturis 2nd, or make some stupid double switch in the 6th or 7th inning I'll be fine.

 

I can remeber from his Reds days that he abhors a pitcher who cannot throw strikes.

Just listening to Lou at the winter meetings. He at least has a cogent thought and I don't get embarrassed every time he speaks for the Cubs. Definitely an improvement, but it was hard to get worse.

I'm not part of "we all" either. I was in the camp of prefering other candidates, but I never thought Lou was a bad choice, just not the best. Since he's been hired I've been pleased with what I've heard from him.
