Has anyone heard when Soriano will be introduced to the Chicago media and the public, at this news conference, that is to take place sometime this week?

----------

ETA:

The Score and Comcast Chicago have said they're carrying it live.

I assume WGN Radio and ESPN1000 will also be carrying it live, but I don't have any confirmation.

Cubs.com says you can watch it live on BaseballChannel.tv and have a link to it on their home page.

Here's the info for the the radio stations:

WGN Radio AM 720 (click listen live in top LH corner)

ESPN Radio Chicago AM 1000 (click 'listen live' tab)

The Score AM 670 (click big orange Listen Live)

Five-time All-Star Alfonso Soriano, who recently signed an eight-year deal with the Cubs, and Cubs Vice President and General Manager Jim Hendry will be available to media in the Stadium Club at Wrigley Field at 3:00 p.m. CST on Thursday, November 30.

Jus like a stopped clock, I'm right twice a day. Sometimes that's all you need.

Funny - that was the same logic my Huskers' A.D. used to fire 9-3 football coach Frank Solich. :)

Think about it: when have you ever seen "Bruce Miles" and "Jim Hendry" together? They're one in the same, and involved in some weird plot to make money from us somehow. I'm on to you...

Never understimate the value of a good conspiracy theory, eh?

Bruce, any idea on whether the Cubs will let him play winter ball? I know they said they weren't too fond of the idea...but will they at least entertain the idea. Obviously there are pluses and minuses to both sides. I'm guessing it won't be a huge deal because if it was, he wouldn't have signed with us without getting the OK

We'll find out more about that tomorrow.

Bets money and calls vegas.

So you bet the money before calling Vegas?

Thought I should explain. I have mild OCD. I sometimes type things backwards or in poor grammar, on purpose. "Calls vegas and bets life savings". See, I can do it.

Hendry: after the season, I sat down with Kinney, FitzSimmons and McDonough to map out the off-season, and we just decided to get the best player out there.

Hendry introduces him as "our new leadoff hitter, Alfonso Soriano."

Soriano:

Thought he did a good job in the outfield last season and thinks the Cubs have a 2bman, but is happy to play wherever it will make the team happy.

Thinks the adjustment to day games won't be a big deal.

Not surprised by length of deal, has been healthy and played over 145 games for a long time.
