Typical Raiders. Some stats from the game:

-The Raider defense held Houston to 124 total yars including -5, that's right, negative 5, yards passing. David Carr was 7-14, 32 yards and was sacked 5 times for 37 yards lost

-The Raiders outgained Houston 302-124 for the game

-The Raiders turned the ball over 5 times

-Drunkowski was obviously drugged up today as well as being hammered as he missed all three field goals on the day

-The Texans were the first team in 25 years to be held to negative yards passing but still win the game

I swear if the Raiders draft anybody on the defensive side of the ball in the 2007 draft I might go crazy.

Don't worry.

You'll get Calvin Johnson with the #2 pick.

If they draft a WR I want Dwayne Jarrett.

But as long as they draft offense, I won't complain too much. As long as the first round pick isn't an O-linemen.

Just no defense. For the sake of my sanity.

Calvin Johnson >> Dwayne Jarrett.

Agree.

CJ had Reggie Freaking Ball throwing it to him and STILL put up among the best numbers in the country.

I hope the Pack take whatever WR Oakland doesn't take out of the combination of Jarrett, Johnson, and Smith, if they were to take a WR. I'd have to believe though that they would take a QB.

As for the Packers, I don't know what we should do. A stud wideout would be nice. We already have our tackles and our center locked up long term, so I don't see us drafting an OL with our first pick. I'm pretty sure we'd either draft a RB, WR, or a safety. Michael Bush would be a real nice pick at the area where we'd be picking at as of right now.

Same size, faster, better hands. And yeah, it's easier to look good with Leinart and Booty throwing to you vs. Reggie Ball.

Smith? Do you mean Steve Smith? I don't think he'll go that high (around the 7th pick from what I see in the standings), although I think he'll be a solid pro. I doubt Michael Bush will go that high, I think he's on the border in terms of being a first rounder. AD might still be there at 7, certainly Marshawn Lynch (imo, too high for Marshawn).

And you guys know Ted Ginn is going to measure well at the workouts and skyrocket.

They also allowed 5 sacks today. I'm in a fantasy league that gives 3 points per sack, and I went with Houston's defense today not because the Texans D is good (it isn't), but because the Raiders pass protection is so bad.

Thank you, Oakland Raiders.

The Packers really need to consider Joe Thomas (please be there!) from Wisconsin and grab a back in the second round. The line is putrid.

Every mock draft I've seen have the Cardinals taking him with a top 5 pick.

Don't get me wrong, I like them both and would be happy with either but I would take Jarrett. I realize that Reggie Ball is a horrible QB and Johnson is the only good offensive player on his team but he's had too many games in which he's done nothing this year. I know that being the best offensive player gets you more attention but conversely, if you're so great, you should be able to get yourself open at the college level.

4 catches 26 yards against Samford

2 catches 9 yards against Troy

0 catches 0 yards against Clemson

3 catches 13 yards against UNC

2 catches 13 yards against Georgia

2 catches 19 yards against Utah in a bowl game last year

I know Jarrett has had some off games as well (1 catch 5 yards vs UW, 4 catches 36 yards vs Arizona) but USC has more weapons on his team so Booty isn't always looking his way.

Jarrett has played, and consistently played extremely well, in big games. I would be happy with either but if it was up to me, Jarrett would be my choice.

Then I think the goal is to be worse than the Cardinals. ;) Given the Packers recent performance, futility is on their side...

I hope the Raiders take a QB (hello Brady Quinn) and think they should. But remember, this is the Raiders. This was the team that needed a QB last year but passed on Matt Leinart to sign Aaron Brooks instead.

Don't forget the Texans could use OL help.

Here's hoping if the Raiders pick Quinn that he keeps Weis on speed-dial, calls him a couple times a week, and completely ignores anything the Raiders' coaching staff tells him. That'd be his best chance at success.

Hopefully they'll have a whole new offensive staff next year.

I think the Texans have two more wins in them.

I think the Pack will be lucky to win one.

Yeah the Seahawks looked pretty awful tonight. The NFC is close to the NBA's Eastern Conference in terms of overall ineptitude.

And would it be amazing if Shawne Merriman won DPOY playing in only 12 games?? Man racked up 2.5 more sacks, 6 Solos (from outside in a 3-4 is really good) and two FF today.

10.5 sacks in 8 games would be a 21 sack season

We will beat the Lions and 'Queens. I only wish we already played them.

I don't think we will draft an OL in the 1st round. Tackles usually go in the first round and we already have a couple of good tackles in Clifton and Tauscher. Guards go in the later rounds. Our line needs 2 good guards and I think we will then have a decnt O-line.

And yeah Raisin, I was talking about Steve Smith. For some reason I also forgot about Ginn. This year's WR class is a pretty good one, at least at the top.

Clifton won't last much longer. He's been losing steam this year too. I'd grab a WR somehow because as much as I do like Driver, he should be the 2nd.

Every time I watch the Pack it seems they have trouble in the secondary. The whole Ahmad Carroll thing really hurt----I think you need to find another CB, maybe a safety.

A big beefer DT wouldn't hurt either.

Yeah I agree. Our secondary gets burned becasue we have two run-stopping safeties that can't stop the pass to save their life. Our nickelback is a guy who started the season on OUR practice squad. That should tell you how bad he is. Secondary help would definitely be nice. Ken Hamlin is a FA this year, so he is definitely my #1 priority in terms of Free Agency.

Ryan Pickett has been a good FA signing, but Cullen Jenkins/Corey Williams doesn't really get it done at the other DT spot. They're nice players; as 2nd and 3rd stringers. A big DT would definitely help us out as well.

The good thing about it is, it's like playing in the National League in baseball. It's never that bad because the rest of the league is so mediocre you can jump back in it with one decent offseason.

Not that I want to see competition from the Packers, mind you 8-)

I think Steve Smith is going in the second round, flames.

Besides Cavin Johnson, Dwayne Jarrett and Ted Jinn, there's also Sidney Rice and Robert Meachem who should go ahead of Smith (all underclassmen).

Samardizja is also projected to go ahead of him-in fact, I hate this bitterly because most mock drafts have Samardizja going to the Patriots in the first round. :(

I'm curious if the Bears have given any thought to drafting Samardzija. Lord knows they probably won't pick defense yet again.
