First of all, this is my first post and I want to thank California Raisin for pushing my name through to get activated after 3 months of unanswered emails by admins. Now I can post. Hooray!

 

Since I have wanted to respond to about 20 threads over the past week, here are all my wants and thoughts in 1 post. If anyone cares:

 

DeRosa: Good signing, I will only be mad if he is a butcher at 2nd or if his contract prevents us from getting Soriano or Drew or someone next year

 

Blanco: Not bad, but a little much for a backup. I hope Hendry isn't thinking about trading Barrett because his bat far outweighs his defensive shortcomings, especially now that Maddux is gone because he couldn't hold a runner on anyway.

 

Miller/Wood: Whatever, he got them for a good price. If we can get 200 innings combined from them I'll be ecstatic. 140 from Miller, 60 from Wood.

 

Ramirez: :D :D :D Me like because even though he is getting more than Lee, his position dictates that. It's much easier to find a 1B who can hit than a great 3B. Hopefully his number is hanging below Ronnie's in about 15 years.

 

Wish List:

 

Drew-CF--OBP, Left handed bat, solid defense outweigh injury risk. Perfect fit for our lineup right now

 

Westbrook-SP--give them Izturis and Cotts and sign him to 3/24 contract extension. Throw in Marshall or Mateo in exchange for a lower level prospect if they really need us to.

 

Lilly-SP. Get this done Jim, he might have some "emotional issues", but that could at least be fun. Him and Piniella fighting it out in the dugout. Good times. Oh ya, and he has great stuff.

 

Marquis-SP. Has OK stuff, might be able to figure it out. Could do worse than him for a 7th starter or long man. Better pinch hitter than anyone from last year too.

 

Craig Wilson-Bench OF/1B. Play for Jacque Strap against LHP and give Lee a day off here and there. OK pinch hitter too. and a sweet mullet

We would most likely still have some money left over for midseason acquistions. I don't want any part of soriano, unless he would take less money than what is being reported. Drew fits our needs better anyway.

I agree, but ya gotta lose one of the redundant speedsters. Pagan or Bynum have to go, preferably both. check that. Bynum definitely has to go. Pagan I could go either way with.

 

I'd also lose Marquis off the bottom of the list and put the other Japanese pitcher, and Padilla, ahead of Lilly et al.

Ya, I joined in Feb, waited a few months for my account to be activated. It never happened. The Cubs sucked, so I didn't feel the need to vent my frustration in public, so then I sent some emails starting in September and finally got my account activated this week.

 

You guys are right about Bynum--he stinks and shouldn't be on the team, but I see Hendry and Lou keeping him around for whatever reason. As far as Marquis, he seems to be the type of guy Hendry would like. I know I titled it "wish list" but tried to keep it realistic in the eyes of Hendry.
