GO KSU!

If only the Gamecocks could have finished the deal, ND would be one win away from the big one. Gotta hope the Gators lose in the SEC title game, I think.

Weird how Michigan beat Notre Dame, yet somehow if they have both have one loss people think ND deserves to play in the national championship game over Michigan. Once again the BCS makes no sense

I don't think there's a single ND fan in the world that thinks ND would deserve it, but it looks like they'd probably get to. ND will be No. 6 next week unless Rutgers or Arkansas passes them in the BCS, No. 5 if KSU holds on. And I don't see OSU/Michigan loser staying high enough to be ahead of ND in that scenario.

42-28.

If OSU wins, it means that the computer #1 lost to the computer #2, so Michigans computer ranking won't drop too much (depending on margin of loss), so it will come down to the voters. that being the case, I think they would do for Michigan what they would do for few other teams.

instead of playing the stupid game of losses late in the season being more important than losses early in the season, the voters would actually look at their ballot and say "wait, I can't put ND ahead of Michigan after the game early in the year."

thus, ND will stay behind UM in all the polls and the computers (depending on the margin of the loss) and remain ahead of ND.

Great drive by Oregon to start the game, then they get stupid and go for it on 4th and 1 from the USC 15, don't convert and get an 8-minute drive with no points to show for it. Idiotic.

USC drives down field with ease and then Booty throws a pick inside the 10 yard line which is returned to the Oregon 40. :D

now that I have seen the Arkansas pom squad, I understand the team nickname.

what?

this is by no means an idictment of you or of U of Arkansas as an institution...but their pom squad is a bunch of hogs.

True dat. (although computers dont take into consideration margin of victory. Michigan will still be very strong in the computer department IF they lhappen to lose)

Gary Thorn needs to get out of football and either stick with hockey or get into professional wrestling.

this is an ugly game. why do the players seem like they are on ice when running? how bad is this field?

USC up 14-0 with 10:30 left in the second quarter on a 5-yard Chauncey Washington touchdown run following a Dennis Dixon interception.

I don't think USC will be joining the ranks of the 2-loss teams.

Be still my beating heart.

If Texas loses tonight, and McCoy is out next week, dare I say, possible loss against Texas A&M? Certainly more possible, anyway. Suddenly, if OU beats Baylor and OSU, we are looking at a chance at a Big XII championship game and a possible BCS berth.

shhh. you're going to lend legitimacy to Cuse's argument about the Big East.

That play made absolutely no sense for Kansas State-run the ball into the line, take it down to 10 seconds, punt it away, you win the game-why would you ever throw the ball there? It worked though!

Teams left with a chance at the NC-Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, USC, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Rutgers.

Am I missing anybody? I don't think so-anybody else I believe would have Ohio State-Michigan playing each other again for sure (and some of those on the list might have that happen to them as well, but it's not for sure).

Great ending to the Texas-KSU game.

USC up 14-0 at the half. Oregon finished the half the way they started the half...nice drive that bogs down and ends with 0 points - this time due to a missed 23-yard FG.

Whether it worked or not, that was just an awful play call on 3rd down by KSU. And when you're under pressure about to get sacked there, TAKE THE SACK, rather than throw while being knocked down risking an incompletion and actually giving Texas a chance at a win. If he takes the sack there, that clock is gonna be at around 35 seconds when the ball gets set, you punt to Texas, and they're lucky to get 1 play off.

well since WV and LSU are both currently ahead of Rutgers and won their games today, they should be in your picture. I don't think any team in the top 15 other than Wisconsin is exactly eliminated from a shot at the National Championship.

I can easily see the Championship game being a rematch of OSU and UM. Florida still has the SEC championship game. Arkansas still has LSU. USC still has Cal and to ice tonights game. ND and SC still have each other.

but I think is should be the winner of OSU/UM v. Boise State. that would show just how absurd the BCS is.

yes, yes, upsets, BCS, blah, blah, blah

What's really important is that I sat in the pouring rain to watch PSU play quite possibly the sorriest excuse for a Division 1-A team in the country, the Temple Owls. Seriously, this team shouldn't have joined the MAC, they should have joined Division-II.

Of course there is going to be great disparity in talent between two programs like this, but the coaching at Temple is horrible. Multiple penalties for illegal formations, undisciplined team all around, bad play calling. This was a no contest for the Lions, and would have been an even bigger blow out if Penn State wasn't so frustratingly inconsistent on offense.

I didn't watch the game(As I doubt it was broadcast outside of Happy Valley), but are you concerend with Morelli at all after today? Or are his end numbers not indicative of how he played?

Morelli is just not good, and the bad part is that I don't see any improvement week to week. He stares down receivers, follows brilliant passes with horrible ones, etc., etc. I said early in the season that he'd probably have about a 1:1 TD to INT ratio and he's not far off. Yes, his receivers have dropped some balls, but even today he had some plays where 3 guys were wide open but he threw the hardest pass instead of the easiest of his options. Really frustrating.

so I'm looking at the BCS standings and discussing how silly the BCS is on various threads and realize this incredibly frustrating situation. despite having only one loss on the season and having four teams ahead of them lose in week 12, my team, the Wisconsin Badgers, will not move one iota. they will more than likely remain 15 with the four teams that lost today #'s 11-14.

That could be true. I'm guessing Wisconsin will pass Cal, but the other 3 could very well stay ahead, even if it is not fair.
