Heh, UK locks a bowl game with a win against Vandy. As someone who really doesn't think that Brooks isn't the right fit for UK, he has helped prove me wrong for this year. With that said, extending his contract would be stupid. They did give up 600 yards to Vandy.

Congrats!

Man, UK is going to a bowl game and UCLA probably won't. Sad. :(

UCLA is the only team I can't taunt collegiate basketball success to. (If that helps)

Woot!

(Ignores the fact that most of the success came before I was born.)

Well I saw it happen if that helps Raisin. It was easier to win back then but UCLA was always loaded with talent, a lot of eastern talent.

I really can't believe people are going to claim the Big 12's superiority over the Big East. Or the ACC's.

I think the Big East has more quantity at the top, but the Big XII is probably stronger all the way down. Looking at it like that, though, really makes it a toss-up. Do you want three really good teams or one really good team and a lot of good to above average ones? I think that discussion could go either way.

Also, Thompson, up until a few weeks ago, had been better than Bomar was last season. Now that AD is out, though, teams are no longer loading up on the run, and he has been unable to pass. Of course, Patrick is running wild, so you win some, you lose some.

DeSean Jackson back in the game, looks like he's not hurt too bad. Longshore is STRUGGLING.

Raisin, I'm a little foggy on the details of who you are aligned to. Are you pro-Cal as well as UCLA?

I'm a UCLA alum, will always root for UCLA first and foremost. After UCLA, I'm pro Pac-10, so whenever it doesn't hurt UCLA, I root for the top teams in the conference to do well (depending on how I feel, I might root for USC even).

And I certainly want to see Cal and USC win today so the game next week means more.

ETA: I do favor Cal over any other Pac-10 school besides UCLA since Cal is a fellow UC.

Florida 7 SC 7...in Florida. They can't destroy a 5-4 team at home but they are one of the best 1 loss team in the nation? These reporters just see what they want to see.

Why do we let one game decide everything rather than the body of work?

Ok, so with so far this week Auburn and Louisville most likely falling out of the top spots of the BCS, and Florida playing South Carolina close so far, will the winner of the Cal/USC game have a fighting shot to play in the National Championship?

USC definitely will have a chance if they beat Cal and ND.

Are you getting the Cal game?

Well they haven't really blown out, or even won by a substantial margin in their last 2 games (almost losing to Vanderbilt). If they lose to USC here, than I think that is enough for me to decide they are going to drop out of the top 10.

Why is Cal a possible team while Louisville or WV are not?

I don't understand what you're saying. I agree the whole season should be the thing that everyone goes by but losing in your 9th/10th/11th or 12th game after being undefeated knocks you out is what bothers me.

Florida gets to play a tough W Carolina team next week.

They need to run Lynch more. He had an 80-yard touchdown wiped out on a block in the back penalty (the drive they got a FG on). The touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson was pretty, but besides those 3 plays, the offense hasn't looked great. Especially Longshore.

Absolutely, especially USC based on who they will have defeated. If Cal won out they would also get a big boost from going to USC and winning. I think USC would, and should, jump ahead of Texas if they won out. Cal I'm not so sure about though.
