What is so crazy about turning down a Gavin Floyd deal? Have you seen his numbers the last two years? He is not the prospect he once was.

 

And Sheffiled ain't the player he once was, and his injury in 2006, willprolly be a precursor to a down yr in 2007.

 

And Floyd would be a better (and atleast chepaer) option for the #4 or #5 in rotation, over guys like Aaron Small, Carl Pavano, and Jaret Wright.

 

AAA numbers '05/'06:

 

whip: 1.49

ERA: 5.28

h/9: 9.7

k/9: 6.49

 

Major league numbers '05/'06:

 

whip: 1.84

ERA: 8.18

h/9: 11.2

k/9: 5.72

 

This is not a guy the yankees put in their rotation, let along trade anything of value for.
