of course, the Marlins' good hitters didn't start going 0-for-the-series and their pitchers didn't throw the ball away every game.

Love how McCarver and Buck get done saying that the drop in RF was Edmonds' fault, and now McCarver says they have to sub for him defensively right away because they can't take any more chances with him out there.

The fact that fox has them on this series and not Brennamen and Piniella is a joke. These guys are freaking cheering for the cardinals.

Thank you Fox, for that fabulous use of "oops, I did it again"

A-holes.

Edmonds is actually a big Britney Spears fan, that's why they played it

They do wear similar length shirts.

Of course, it was fun in 2004 to watch them root for the Cardinals and then get disheartened as the Red Sox thoroughly outclassed their beloved Redbirds.

Ah the Cardinals were just exhausted, the two clowns said so earlier. You know they played a 400 game season that year and the Red Sox got a bye to the World Series.

seriously, if you think duncan is the reason that all these guys pitch out their rear when they get to st louis, why not give him $10 million per year and then go cheaper on pitching? After all, it seems to be the coach and not the arms themselves. Weaver has turned from one of the worst pitchers in baseball to a #2 in just two months.

So whats the story with Weaver. Dude was DFA by the angels with what 3 more years left on the contract. Cards get him this year for the minimum. do they get him for the minimum for the next 3 years too?

Someone else will find this out next year when they give Suppan a big deal.

no, weaver was on a one-year contract w/the Angels this year. Besides, I think if you release a guy, you're on the hook for his contract and he can sign for whatever he wants with another team.

Well yeah, I'm just saying that it seems more cost-efficient to pay one guy big bucks than to pay a lot of pitchers big bucks.

I agree, plus I think a lot of our young guys will be fine.

Thanks. I was worried they would get Weaver for league minimum for the next 3 years and have a guy with about a 4.00 era. (i must thought he and ortiz were in the same boat). would of been a good deal for them. Not we just gotta get the birds to bite the bait and sign weaver to nice hefty contract
