Louisville is tied with Cincinnati 3-3 in the middle of the second quarter.

Not anymore! :D 10-3 Cincy with 6 minutes to go in the 1st half. (Reason for Smiley-I'm looking for one of WV or Lousville to lose, and then for the loser to beat the other team when they play each other)

I think everyone behind both teams is.

Where's Garrett Wolfe? NIU's still losing 13-7 in the 4th quarter.

16 carries 44 yards. WMU is DOMINATING that game.

I think it's safe to say Ball State's losing by at least 20 next week then.

WMU is killing NIU. The score doesn't reflect how awful NIU has played. Horrible Horvath's updated numbers: 6/16, 59 yards, 0 TD's, 3 INT's. Our only TD was a blocked punt that we returned for 6. Wolfe has definitely been slowed down...WMU's rush defense was among the top 10 in the country and they're living up to that stat.

Mizzou tied 17-17 at the half. They've gotten hosed on a couple fumble calls, one where they blew it then couldn't find a good enough angle to reverse it, and another where they signaled touchdown, then reversed it to say that it was a fumble that went out of the endzone(which you cannot do, but they did).

Is it a three horse race now for the Heisman ? Unfortunately Peterson goes down for the season and Wolfe did nothing against a respectable rushing defense. It's probably Troy Smith's race to lose, but it seems now down to Smith, Calvin Johnson, and Brady Quinn.

I might be biased, but I think Johnson and Smith have really put up the most impressive numbers. Smith seems to never miss, always throws it to the right place (2 INT all year against 17 TD's). Johnson is 5th in the nation at 559 yards and leads in TD's. He's done this in an offense with a mediocre QB and one other reciever. He has over half the team's total receiving yards. Johnson also has 100+ yd games against ND, VT, and MD.

If Wolfe has a huge game against Iowa he could still get himself back in the Heisman race. But I think he's basically done.

Smith has the UM game still left. That game has helped determine 2 recent Heisman winners in Woodson and Desmond. That game for both of those guys put em over the top, especially for Woodson. OSU will be undefeated up to the UM game, if they win he's got it for sure. Quinn has the USC game left but it might not mean as much as the UM/OSU game.

Slaton could still get it, but he'd have to have a huge game against Louisville and pretty much crush WV's other opponents single-handedly.

It's probably Smith's to lose. For him not to get it, either OSU needs to lose a game (in which Smith looks bad), or Quinn/Johnson need to explode the remainder of the year and their teams make a BCS game.

Christian Taylor and Justin Hickman just about killed Dennis Dixon's knee.

Brady Leaf time.

Ahh, Dixon walks off on his own power. I guess he might come back.

EDIT: Oregon scores, 27-6, 3:59 left in the third quarter. That should be game. Leaf took the last 3 plays of the drive.

Posted

Dixon hyperextended his knee. Should return later.

Up by 21, Oregon on-sides it and recovers it. :(

And UCLA intercepts the pass. UCLA would have worse field position if Oregon had kicked it regularly.

Posted

Man, ridiculous. The refs blow the whistle and then three seconds later, the Oregon DE kills the UCLA QB and no call. Second late hit Oregon has gotten away with.

Ahh, make up pass interference call on the next play.

Wow, Mizzou is stopped on a fake FG right after taking a delay of game penalty trying to draw A&M offsides. Shaky coaching there.

SIU loses to Illinois State 37-10 :(

Last year when SIU was ranked #1 in I-AA, they beat us at C'Dale 61-35. Now this year they run away and beat us by 27. We were leading 10-7, but they scored 30 unanswered. The turning point of the game was following an ISU score that made it 14-10 with 1:30 left in the first half. Nick Hill (SIU's QB) threw a pass to Arkee Whitlock (SIU's RB). Whitlock was well covered on the play and the throw was a bit behind Whitlock, giving the defender the INT. SIU's defense held them to 3, but no doubt that gave them confidence for the 2nd half.

We'll probably drop to around 10th in the I-AA poll...
